Now that gas prices are just as high as ever - is it affecting our kids now just as well as it is us? We're always clipping coupons and scavenging around for discounts on groceries. But besides "Tax Free Weekend", there are no discounts on clothing or school supplies for our kids. Will are kids have to wear old clothes from last year again or will we dip into our savings to buy a new pair of jeans for little Sally?

savings? whats that? that was gone when summer hit. wasnt that what the stimulus check was supposed to be for? i understand what you mean, but the cost for everything has gone up to the point where its hard to buy many things by choice.

It amazes me that everything on the news talks about how bad the economy is but when I look around the restaurants ( not just fast food) are packed you have to get out of the way of the big suv's and Walmart and Krogers are also packed.I know this isn't everywhere but it seems as though most Atlantan's aren't suffering to bad. I really don't see to many people cutting back.

Let's face it, some of the kids NEED to wear last year's clothes! Alot of our children have no idea what it takes to ...'stay in fashion'. It's called REALITY. And quite frankly...our kids need a 'taste' of it.

Maybe they can cut back on their cellphone usage, what does a 10 -17 year old kid with a cellphone.

With experience, I attest how true the proverbs are; "what goe's up, must come down" & "that which has been exalted shall be brought low". Oil may retreat, for awhile, but there are alot more people in this world then when I was child. Surely prices for food & fuel will rise again , but where the current commodity bottom is-nobody knows.
Viva Walmart & classic cut clothes.

Tell your kids "Welcome to the real world"
