Well, now President Bush has announced the lifting of the ban on off shore drilling.  It took him eight years to finally do that?  And now the ball is in the Congresses court.   He blames the Congress and the Senate for not acting sooner, um W. old buddy it was your Dad that put the ban in place to begin with, when he was Prez.  All this just to shore up McCain's assurance for the election, ah the fix is in. Now all McCain's gotta do is not tee off the conservative right in his party.  Also in the news we're starting high level diplomatic  talks with Iran over nuclear policy, hmm where 'd I hear that before?, hey Obama don't look now but ole W's stolen one of your idea's.  Mr. Bush in his last days in office has done more than he did in the past eight years, paving the way is he?, To make it easier for McCain if he's elected, again the fix is in.  And to quell Obama's issues  rhetoric a little in the process, um that's a thought.  But remember citizens  the power is in the Democratic controlled Congress, and a Liberal is Speaker of the House. Pelosi may have her eye's on much more perhaps a bid for 2012 Presidential nod,  God forbid. In the mean time we citizens haven't a FIXER at all,  My faith though is with the American way of determination, and independence, to be the FIXER of our own governmental miscues, and take action, if vocal protest won't do it, if writing Congress won't help it,  then what's next?  Why we try and try until we ourselves FIX the FIXERS...:(!)..trippy

We the People, are the first words you read in our Constitution. But, it's apparent to me that our Representatives are sort of ignoring that. If you watch C-span which I do, you get some insight of how the U.S. House works. Bureaucrats haven't got a clue about "We the People", they're just trying to get re-elected or applying efforts to raise money for their pork barrel wants lists. Constituents, (we the people), have to take a back seat to committee duties, lobbyist courting, and one thousand dollar a plate fund raising luncheons and junkets to far off lands called, "fact finding missions".  Now where do we, our wants and needs get addressed?  Absenteeism among House members on floor votes resembles that of a high school study room class cutting foray.  The meaning of " We the People", is somewhat lost in translation to those that we pin our hopes on to get our "business of the People" done. And in the Senate we're no better off there ether, I over heard someone say, " Why do we need a President?  When it's the Congress that does the workings of the country".  Hm mm, perhaps they need to sit in on a House session just once to see just how ineffectual it's become. No wonder the American citizen isn't to happy,  when the wishes of "We the People", are being ingnored....:(!)..trippy

How Stupid do the political pundants think the American people are? When we hear a comment by one of the candidates, aren't we smart enough to know or decide in what context to take it? Pres. Bush's remarks in Israel, were they aimed at Obama?  Obama seems to think so,  and maybe they were, Gee aren't we smart enough to determine that on our own?   Opinions,  though thought provoking little nuggets and nuances that they bring up are nothing more than tired old conclusions that the American people have already thought of. Not that some political analyst or reporter is going to make up my mind for me on my vote, but they try to,  you see it when ABC, NBC, CBS or Fox, projects a candidate a winner in an election. I don't know perhaps I'm getting tired of the rhetoric that both the candidates, and the pundants are making, or the election process in general is souring my disposition. Maybe I'm bias, because I don't like Analysts especially political ones . But when I jump the conclusional fence, I'd like to do it on my own, and not be pushed like a sheep by a herdsman's dog.  Come on now, I'm waiting for a new fresh perspective, not more Blahhhh, Blahhhh, Blahhhh.... trippy :{)

To balance the budget Mayor Franklin said some people must be laid off. Not only that! But a Tax hike as well, What evil alien has snatched her mind! I know the city is suffering because of surprise budget short falls, Do partly to poor budget oversight and her own ineptness. City services cut (ut oh pot hole patrol), I hope those being laid off are a few Dept. Managers & supervisors,  and not just the gruts in the trenches. Cut some administrative fat there too. I smell a coup brewing in the City Council, over the tax hike. Now If Miss Shirley had kept her finger on things instead of in the budget pie when her over bloated programs needed funding we wouldn't been discussing  this issue.  Audits are hell huh Shirley?,  especially  when it catches misappropriations of millions of dollars spent on over blown City contracts, and bad math in the Tax Assessor's office. Pssss! Shirley hope your not planning on running for Governor. Cause after this little brew haha, You won't get elected as a Dog Catcher's assistant. Ah, Shirley I'd hire a food tester also....trippy

Those poor Lithonia residence, how must they feel.  A power struggle, the mayor ruft up city council voting to move to the Police Dept. Gee if I were living there I'd move.

Can't the county or someone step in and mediate this situation, City services are being affected, employees aren't getting paid. Is there no shame? this is a prime example of politico's putting themselves before the people they serve who'd want the key to that city. Recall the city counsel and the Mayor for ineffectiveness of they're duties. Come'on  Think for once of the people your serving not your self-serving pride.

By the time this is over Lithonia will be a ghost town......trippy
