I was going to pay my gas bill today. Not my auto gas...my home gas. Something I haven't done in the past was to really look over the charges. Today I decided to look at the bill. Normally, I get an email and I pay.
Well imagine my surprise to see an AGL Pass-Through charge for $18. Hmmm what is this? So I looked it up. Turns out that AGL charges the gas marketers a fee based on the number of customers they have on the 20th of the month. Those gas marketers in turn, charge US for being THEIR customer!
So not only am I paying 9.95 a month as a customer service fee, I'm paying between $15-20 a month again to be their customer.
