It is annoying how people have behaved in a 'rabid' fashion in the status of Grady Memorial Hospital.  We had politicians and a mob who were protesting Grady going private, and they behaved in an unlawful manner by trying to storm/force their way into the hospital and the "closed" meeting which was to render a final decision- weeks after the last official "open meeting" for the public to add their imput.

There were some hearts on the sleeves- in their protest. There were more "political" motivated commentary.

The truth is, the poor and the drug-dependant have enjoyed the service Grady offered to help them.  Many politicians which moved to establish that format for those people were the same ones who diverted or mishandled those funds to pickup the tab in those expenses.  Their successors either followed suit, or may possibly have been ignorant to their responsibilities to the hospital's "blue" group.

Furthermore, Fox 5, Channel 2, and Channel 11 have all had reports on the internal issues of Grady, and the fact that Money which is sent to the Hospital for its ongoing expenses-Staff, supplies, cleaning, Security, etc. The reports showed the various levels of corruption and inpropriety which the Administrative departments were into.

Have we so quickly forgotten about the 20 million dollar funding for the refurbishment/upgrades and expansion of Grady, where materials bought were still in storage, where the reporters also pointed this out, to the following year revisit the story and found the $20 million dollars in funding which was after expenses disappeared. I think one Admin member resigned and was never investigated. The others "clammed-up" and hoped the media had other issues to cover.  Enron mismanaged and people screamed out for vengence. We have other businesses which judges and courts went after and dealt with them....Should we not have the same action for a hospital which is to deal with rich and poor alike and not only ensure the payroll of it's doctors, the proper levels of supplies, and the efficiency of its duties?  The entire staff from the last 20 years of known corruption should be brought before a magistrate judge and charged with Financial mismanagement and embezzelment. These actions may have had ripples in the many mishaps and further injuries or deaths because of the little things not handled correctly.

Grady should go private, the "Blue System" should be also monitored and funded by the same financial providers who had helped before. The caviat should be that they are not only accountable to IRS monitored accounting, but also whichever City run department which is responsible over the Hospitals and their services.   The Privitizing is an actual good idea. If one Business mentions they will give this level of efficiency and also a performance of a high level, then other businesses could bid and have a 3-5 yr contract as well to show what they can do.  The competition between businesses are like any other corporation- either you do what you claim in as quality and efficiency driven manner, or someone else will show they will do it better.   This is a "win-win".

Not only does the hospital Do well, being a competitor in the field of medicine and care, but those other people who can't afford services will be able to perform as they should, but also work to 'ween'  those who shouldn't be on the plan as well.

Too many are either motivated by money, social class, or other means which are not necesary for the best interest of the truly needy or deserving.  The Politician who saw the cameras peaking inside a window while he and the people who tresspassed/ illegally entered the hospital (for which why there was security there), the politician on purpose tripped and tried to portray himself as being treated cruelly and make out like he was a victim. This is no different than when Cynthia McKinney blatantly disobeyed rules and when caught, slapped the officer, and has yet to apologize to that officer. She has made herself out to be the victim.

When we have these politicians feel the law and rules apply to everyone but them, they are behaving EXACTLY as the people they scream are behaving 'above the law'. They had used their power and ethnicity as weapons to do as they please.  The individuals who handled sending the money to Grady know what corruption there is, and how much money is rerouted to other directions.  The Admin Staff/ Board  are as aware of the misappropriation of funds and behavior unbecoming of their Office and therefore should be made to pay that money back and also send them into prison.  If we demanded the law to exercise it's responsibility in punishing Enron, World Com, and other big business; the news showing various staff of the business going to prison.  Justice is blind-folded for a reason, the figure also has another figure who tells the facts as reported and reviewed. Justice is blind not deaf nor dumb.  If we are a society which demands equal treatment under the law, then we need to back the concept up with action. No person nor company is above the law, nor should be able to escape the law because they have more money or they have a connection to political power to pull immunity to consequences for their action.

Funny fellow who is a Christian, who believes in accountability in what people do. I don't like loose excuses that are framed to let people go from their actions. When you remove the guides to social behavior, then behavior goes aberrant and anarchy, apathy toward others, and lawlessness occures because there are no values ensconced in people, there are no consequences, and a simple "I'm Sorry" seems to excuse every action from running over pets to killing 20 people, to bank robbery. I know that without social ettiquette there will always be bad news reported on tv. With social and moral ettiquette, then people respect themselves-doing away with personal troubles brought on by drinking, drugs, infidelity
,sexual behavior. Crimes would drop drastically, because people would know to respect others. This is no 'pipe dream' It happens in places around the world, and even in small towns. I believe in being pro-active. I am currently job hunting and without money, transportation, and a job rich environment, I am learning about adversity. I may even learn about homelessness. But it doesn't mean hiding and whining over the self.
