OK that's it... first Huckabee and now Hillary have made comments about Barack Obama possibly being assasinated.

If it had been Colin Powell running for president I have hard time believing some of the same nonsense that's going on now would not be going on with his campaign.

This country is heading for a train wreck because a black man is a front runner for the presidency.  My poetic impression was that it will be Mc Cain by a landslide...

From my January 2007 blog "A Muslim for President?" (Check Archives)

"OK, so here's my poetic take on it. Don't worry, Senator Barack Obama will not become the next president. Hillary won't either. We will elect John Mc Cain and the vote will not be split he will win decisively. However the war in Iraq will escalate and we will be embroiled in a border war with Iran before the year 2009. At this time Senator Barack Obama will go to the middle east and broker a peace treaty that will be widely accepted as one of the most ingenious idea's since the Declaration of Independence."

OK so I'm just fooling around a bit... but these issues coming up now I think show that Obama has every chance of becoming president.

So first Huckabee and the chair shooting comment and now Hillary,

"Responding to a question from the Sioux Falls Argus Leader editorial board about calls for her to drop out of the race, she said: "My husband did not wrap up the nomination in 1992 until he won the California primary somewhere in the middle of June, right? We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California. You know I just, I don't understand it," she said, dismissing the idea of abandoning the race."

Well... we've seen it all folks.  A truly bipartisan moment in American politcal history.

WHEN DID HILLARY MENTION ABOUT OBAMA GETTING SHOT????? It seems you heard something that was not said. What she said was talking about was the fact that everyone is telling her to drop out of the race and she said other campaigns went just as long and that Kennedy was shot in June during the campaign. Is she NOT ALLOWED TO TALK ABOUT HISTORY????? ? HAS SHE LOST HER FREEDOM OF SPEECH TO SATISFY IDIOTS WHO DO NOT HEAR WHAT IS SAID OR WANTS TO PUT A DOUBLE MEANING IN EVERYTHING THAT SHE SAYS.???? WHAT'S THE POINT????

The inference was there... or else why would it have made the news? I watched the video of Hillary making the statement twice, and there is no doubt in my mind that she has thought that she should not get out of the race because of the possibility of what she mentioned. Or do you think it was just because of some off hand significance to the month of June?

Some believe she is conniving enough to insinuate an inference of assassination. I don't think she's that bright. She just ran off at the mouth.

I don't think she meant to do it... I think that eventually it had to happen though. Political Campaigns have a nasty habit of bring the dross to the surface... I liked Huckabee more than Mc Cain. I still don't trust Hillary but I have alot more respect for her now than I did 3 months ago.

My point here is that the comments were made rather from no motives or bad motives... These comments have now colored this presidential race with something that boarders on the sinister. It will suprise many that these comments will be more easily dismissed then the Wright comments.

These comments should be dismissed and should not even have surfaced. This would have not even come up if everyone was not screaming for her to give up. If she gives up it will be said she is weak and not president material. There is no comparing this statement with Mr. Wrights hate statements, you can not compare preaching racial hate and government hate (AIDS) with what happened during other presidential campaigns - (which I might add was not a RACIAL issue) - thats history.

Preaching Racial Hate... The man runs a mega church in Chicago... and what I've heard of his sermons, which I'm sure is considerably more than you... has no hate in it. Absurdities yes, hate no. I've had white pastors who've I've personally heard say things twice as racist with a strait face. The medical experiments letting black men die are very real... the AIDS bit is alittle tough to swallow but I find it hard to see where pointing out faults is hate speech. I've had friends who chastised me and told me things I didn't want to hear... they're still my friends years later. I've had other friends who flattered me spreading a net for my feet... many times it wasn't till they set the trap that I realized they weren't really friends.

The great Mr Wright is just the same as
Mr Duke - there is no difference, they both preach racial hate. Why is it that you seem to be the only one that does not recognize the racial hate that Wright preached. You act like blacks were the only people who have ever been treated extremely bad - what about the POW's or the Jews - I know you do not want to hear about any of that. The men that fought to free you were "white" but you never hear anyone speak of them - nor give thanks that they gave their life to give the blacks freedom. You label every white person with the saying "you put us in slavery" not you fought to give us freedom. The first slaves on the earth were "White" - read your bible all the information is in it.
Get off your pity pot and start to live - you can not heal until you do.

OH by the way - that mega church you talked about - Oprah was smart enough to get out while the getting was good - looks like Obama was just too stupid to hear what was being preached after all he went there for 20 years. You, I am sure have heard more of his sermons them I have as I do not believe in racial hate and I would not be able to keep my mouth shut listening to him. YOU HAVE TO BE TAUGHT TO HATE. You need to go into service - spend 30 years there and you will find out in a hurry the one protecting your back may be green or purple but you really do not care just as long as someone is there - you grow to become a family. Maybe they should bring back the draft.

Had you bothered to read my profile up on the right there you would noticed that I am a retired vet. Because I was a voluteer... serving with other volunteers in an all volunteer military I do not see that it's a good idea to pair up volunteers with draftee's. Many nowadays want to wrap up their patriotism in cliche arguements following their race and/or party line. How many lynch mobs did Reverend Wrights church send out? Sorry... I'm not buying a freedom sold on agreeing with your brand of presumptious homespun. The Bill of Rights and the Constitution protect free speech and that's what Hillary and Huckabee were practicing when they both alluded to the assasination of Senator Barack Obama. If such an unfortunate event does occur... those comments will haunt them both. I feel sorry for them... just as I feel sorry for Lou Dobbs, Hannity and ORielly for preaching a litany of suppositions to make people like them feel comfortable with thier own prejudices. Now... read it again before you comment since while you read it the first time you were already thinking about what you were going to reply.

You are right I did not read your profile. I also am retired military (32 years to be exact)- I also enlisted but I was in service when the draft was still in and going strong(Korea,Vietnam) and there was NOT A PROBLEM WITH THE VOLUNTEER OR THE ONE THAT GOT DRAFTED. Our problem was with the public spitting on us when we got home.
Now I am going to tell you my true feelings on the statement made by Hillary. Obama's camp has to have something to pick at since he is in such hot water by remarks by Wright, by his own admission of the lies that he wrote and has published in his book about his family (either what he has written in his book or he is currently changing the facts after they have been printed which are not in line with each other. I am from Illinois and this man has done NOTHING - NOT EVEN VOTE ON ISSUES THAT ARE IMPORTANT TO THE STATE. Our taxes are so high we go to Missouri to buy our gas. There are NO JOBS in southern Illinois since Obama does not believe anything south of Chicago is Illinois. To me Obama is useless, his wife has a big mouth, and he has listened to racist remarks for 20 years without being man enough to speak up. Let me ask you - if that was Hillary's preacher how fast do you think it would take Al Sharpton or Jessie Jackson to get there????? They would be there in a New York minute. I might add racism is racism - weather it comes from black or white and I do not approve of it in any form. With you in service you also should have known there is no color barrier there.

"To me Obama is useless, his wife has a big mouth, and he has listened to racist remarks for 20 years without being man enough to speak up."

You know... I had a white pastor who I "spoke up" too about racist remarks that he didn't see as racist. We argued and the next week I showed up for church and bible study. I don't think it was very wise of me to have even spoken to a man who's heart was in the right place in many ways. If you met Rev Wright face to face I doubt very seriously that you would walk away thinking he hates you because you're white.

"Let me ask you - if that was Hillary's preacher how fast do you think it would take Al Sharpton or Jessie Jackson to get there?????"

Don't ask me that... ask the news media why they give them coverage over all the others that I'm sure have approached Hillary over the issue. Unfortunately though, as much as MLK gets pretend admiration these days he too would have approached Hillary over the issue and he too would be held in the same contempt as Al and Jesse. Believe it... try to say there is no comparison and we will never have another MLK because there can never be another and the media by using Al and Jesse have made sure of that. We are the media's product... they don't sell news, they sell us.

But proud to meet you and respect to a 32 year veteran and an American Senior citizen. I'm a disabled pensioned vet of 13 years Army. It's been a pleasure though and I plan to look for you to blog something of your own. Please take the last word, sir... or were you an elisted man?

I was an enlisted man in the Army. I have to say I am a Proud American and I guess that is why I let my pride get in the way when anything is said about our country or troops. Things that would not bother the average person does bother me - like the hands over the heart and the lapel pin - I know it may seem petty to some but I do care as I do not feel respect is being shown for our country. I am sure you feel the same way since you are also retired from the Army.

Thanks to both you and all men and women of any race that are putting their lives in jeopardy while we argue over idiotic statements made by those seeking attention.
I feel making any statement referring to a previous candidate's assassination is wrong. I think Rev Wright is a grandstanding bigot. He is not alone. George W. used the conservative preachers to push through his last presidency and they spoke vile things about anyone that didn't support their ideology. This goes on in all races. Keeping yourself informed and researching the facts are the best we can do. I don't trust anyone whom has achieved a position in politics. They owe people and it isn't the people who voted them into the office they covet.

statueman, we have heard from the black part of you, what about the white part of you. i have 11 white children, but... i have a 1/4 black grand daughter and two 1/2 black great grand babies. well what a quandry. hmmm should i start hating white people, or black people, no not so, neither. we are what we are. all people shades of brown, all God's children. obama's racial heritage or anyone's for that matter is not or forever should not be the issue. but i will never vote for him nor anyone who has the ideals he has, or doesnt have. if that makes me racist then so be it, but that is a tag that those desperate to elect this man to office.

inriislord,
You ask me
"hmmm should i start hating white people..."

As if that was what I was asking people to do. I started blogging about race alot when I saw that again and again folks on blogs were making mention of blacks and then making generalized statements about them that I find appalling. I have many blogs that you can read right here on myfox. "Mixed American, Threat or Solution" in the archives is one... I think it's listed under March of this year. Also inri... as a christian I'm having a hard time with finding the "white" part of me... perhaps if I use two mirrors...

Okay, so you are mulatto then? I was confused, because I assumed that is your face in the picture, and well, you don't look black. Not that I care much, but you have reffered to yourself as a black man, so I am just clarifying.

Also, just a quick comment on something you said about Clinton's comment, which I don't think was intentionally made towards Obama, but maybe it was, I dunno:

"The inference was there... or else why would it have made the news?"

A lot makes the news that shouldn't make the news. The media makes a big deal out of nothing, as do the nominees, like the comment by Obama about the bitter whites in West Virginia.

I really like your writing style statueman, you word things very interestingly. We don't agree on some issues, but that just means I will read your blog more, as reading the ones I agree with isn't much fun.

The root word for mulatto is mule... creole is perhaps a better discriptive word. I come from a long line of lite skinned AA's.

But thank you MM... where is the motive to write anything if this were one big "you're right!" mutual admiration society for the chronicly cliche'? After all... some of my best friends are racist... But of course, you'll never see me with any of them though. (Stole that one from Chris Rock...)

Hillary Clinton said nothing about Obama or anyone else being assassinated. Her point was simply that in the past primary campaigns have run into the month of June. It's sad that supposedly educated news people put a twist on her statement that a fifth-grader could see is not there. This not directed at you, Statueman, as much some in the national media. Wow. Just because a source puts a twist on something doesn't mean it's really there. Open your eyes, people.

I hear you I really do...

But what Hillary was basicly saying was that "anything could happen" by June... anything.

I have to agree. I saw the tape and I believe she is making her point. It is about sticking with her convictions and how many campaigns have pushed through to June.

statueman, so, are you for obama for president? and if so for what reason. is it for racial reasons? cant be for faith reasons. do you adhere to socialist politics? are you of the opinion that our nations security should take a back seat?? does statueman speak of such things, mechany, a man i call friend, tom is a black man and is not consumed by racial issues. are you? come on all americans this election year is a call to arms. we are in THE most dangerous times of our countries and dare i say the world. this election, between two choices that lack what we need, but one more then the other may be our last shot. a no to obama is in order, not to the black obama, but the obama who in no way has the where with all to run this country to no where but into the ground. mccain we still have a chance because he will put our security first. and right now that is the most important issue facing us.

You know

INRI is Lord, I agree with the name. It's a nice name that makes me think of you expecting a higher standard. Now... If you read a few of my blogs here at myfox you would see who I am for.

However...

If I were to say to you that you're only voting for your candidate because he's white how absurd do you think that would be? It represents the hieght of arrogance and the depth of conciet on the part of many so called "white" Americans to say the African Americans only support Obama because he's black.

Are you a christian? If so... does it bother you that the secular minded are those who are more likely to marry interracially? Does it bother you that Moses Law is being preached by Christians now much in the same way it was preached by Pharisees and Sadducees in Jesus time? Does it bother you that "Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition" fits you? If not... then ask yourself who your inri really is.

Why Inriislord, do you continue to make comments that refer to color? Is that what the bible says?
We should not EVER elect a president based on his religious belief. Whether you like it or not, the constitution prohibits the collaboration. Religion is biased, as you have more than proven. I have faith, yet I know better than to think a person who espouses his religious dogma to be the best candidate.
If you need ministry, go to church. Politics are not and should not be guided by religion/ theology. The man that leads this country cannot be inhibited by those that limit the choices needed to guide this country into a precarious future.

Anyone that believes our government, on any level is making us secure, needs to wake up and smell the fowl winds of truth. Homeland Security has taken our rights, we allow unchecked cargo to enter our ports, we do not have secure borders, we allow those that enter our country to abuse our system unchecked, and the freedom of religion that we all covet, has become a training ground for abuse and child molestation. Blind faith? Faith is not going to make us safe.
McCain is a good man, but he is an old man. If you believe the Republican nominee is going to satisfy your need for religious conservatism, then shame on you. George used you. The office of President is not a position to uphold your religion. Sorry...it isn't all about you.
