Many people will say that my choice for President is based on color. That is quite the contrary. My choice for president boils down to Capitalism versus Socialism. Our forefathers never imagined a system of governing that provided entitlements to people of various socioeconomic needs. Our government is supposed to provide for the general welfare of the people, which does not mean giving them money because they can’t provide for themselves. Capitalism, which is the basis of our Republic, provides an avenue for people of all classes to provide for their well being. With or without an education, a person can make a way for themselves, whether it is through entrepreneurship or working for a corporation.

Getting back to the issue at hand, we cannot afford these entitlement programs that the Democratic candidate has proposed. In order for them to work, we would have to be aggressively taxed, and that would ruin our economy. The Democratic candidate also proposes gutting tax cuts for the wealthy. If it were not for the wealthy, our government would be broke, because the wealthy pay a majority of the revenue that our government uses. I say we eliminate tax credits for everyone, because the lower classes receive money for not paying their fair share of taxes.

Our government pays out billions of dollars to those less fortunate because they cannot pay their way by working an honest job. This may sound cruel, but people need to be responsible for their well being and not depend on the government for a handout. I work very hard for what I have and am very tired of people who do not work getting what I’ve earned. Oh, and before I forget, if McCain were a populist like the Democratic candidate, I wouldn’t vote for him either. It’s not about color; it’s about what is right for our country in order to remain a superpower on the world stage. This is an impassioned plea for the people of this nation to vote with their conscious and not with their emotions. Remember, it is the heart that is fancy free which gets us into trouble.

The state of treatment for our Soldiers, Sailors, Airman and Marines is quite deplorable, and the present administration gives a rat’s arse about their treatment. I spent 10 years serving our great country in the Army and was pushed under the proverbial rug when I was diagnosed as a problem. I tried in desperation to seek counseling and possible treatment. When I did this, I was labeled as weak and turned down for promotion. All I ever wanted to do as a kid was to join the Army and do great things for my country. The Rand study recently published a report stating that 1in 5 service members suffer from PTSD or some other mental illnesses. That roughly equates to 18.5 percent of our military. If you ask me, that’s rather depressing. We have the most modern military in the world, but they have the most archaic attitudes towards mental illness. Our Boys and Girls sacrifice so much in defense of our constitution and for liberty throughout the world. I personally feel that being in the Army exacerbated an illness that was already present in my brain. I don’t blame the Army for causing my illness, because it was already there. When a service member comes forward and admits that he/she has a problem, it is the leadership’s responsibility to help them, not just put them out of the military. I was lucky though, I completed my contract with an honorable discharge with full benefits. Others are not so lucky; they are just discounted as being defective. This is not a pity story, but a call for America to wake up and expect our government to take care of our service members. I suffer form Bipolar and anxiety disorder with a touch of obsessive compulsive disorder thrown in just to complicate things. When I was a law enforcement officer for the Federal Reserve, I had a breakdown and became very weak. I was fired and lost all of my benefits and I had to beg and plead with the Veterans Administration for benefits that were due to me. I finally won my case and was given treatment for a non-service connected disability. The funny thing is, is that there is a stigma surrounding these types of illnesses and it follows you wherever you go throughout the employment world.  The VA needs to provide better treatment for these illnesses and also provide rehabilitation and job training so that service members do not become statistics in a report. I emphatically say that I do not regret serving the cause of our great country and that our government needs to be accountable for their misgivings.

I've written in many of my blogs that a majority of politicians go to Washington for a lifelong career. This is not what the forefathers intended when they drafted the Constitution. Going to Washington is suppossed to be a vehicle for change, not just pandering to the classes and subclasses of our country. In my humble opinion, I feel that politicians are creating a sense of class warfare, whether it is between the rich, middleclass or the poor, or whatever other class they steal votes from. The Democrats primarily secure the minority vote by promising more entitlements.....that is wrong on so many different levels that I can't even begin to explain. The Republicans only pander to the wealthy.....once again, that is wrong. We as a country will never go forward unless we elect a politician from the common man. WE AS A NATION MUST FIGHT FOR CHANGE OR WE WILL GO THE WAY OF THE ROMAN EMPIRE. History has an ugly way of repeating itself. Let's be a success instead of being a statistic

I wrote in an earlier blog that Iraq was a complete nightmare. My assertion still stands. In my humble opinion, I feel that Congress is getting our soldiers killed. The evidence that I use to state my opinion is incontrovertible. The enemy engages in Asymmetrical warfare by using the insurgency to wage guerilla conflicts. The insurgency uses what is known as Force Multipliers, that is, they use topography, civilian population and psychological propaganda to engage the enemy in a hostile way. The Geneva Convention and the Hague set forth guidelines for the commencement of hostilities against an enemy of the state. This is all well and good if both sides apply the the Laws of Land Warfare. As reported by the media, they don't. These laws act as Force Detractors allowing defeat of our military. If we are ever going to allow our Troops to redeploy back to the United States, we must fight the enemy the way they fight us. We must lay waste to the insurgency, and for this to happen, Congress must let the ground commanders fight the war the way they're trained. We have obviously not learned from the mistakes of Vietnam, if we did, Iraq would be an afterthought.

We can agree to disagree, and the arguments will be numerous.

As always....opinions are welcomed

A primary object....should be the education of our youth in the science of government. In a republic, what species of knowledge can be equally important? And what duty more pressing...than communicating it to those who are to be the future guardians of the liberties of the country?".....

George Washington

Education, and I cannot stress it more, is the key to our life as a nation. Our youth are being educated by a mass of teachers that subscribe to the liberal mantra. Likewise, our adults are subscribing to the liberal bias being thwarted upon us by the liberal media.....to include Hollywood. In my years as an adult, I have yet to find a politician who fervently defends, or even knows what the constitution entails.

This is worth repeating to every American.......Our country will be begin to digress if we, the constituency, do not change our ways. George Orwell was rather prophetic when he penned "1984" and the government he spoke of.

As always, comments are appreciated.

The thought of our Government being involved in the most popular conspiracy theories is quite scary. I mean....what can we expect in the coming years? Will it be the Orwellian theory that plays out in "1984" by Geoge Orwell? Or will it be a more peaceful future? Only time will tell. One agency that will be at the forefront of the Orwellian future will be the NSA. The National Security Agency is an all powerful entity with its tentacles intertwined with the everyday life of all Americans. If I am not mistaken, the National Security Agency was established November 4th, 1952 to combat the RED SCARE of the Soviet Union. Well, the time has come for this agency to stop its COLD WAR tactics of keeping the American people in the dark, and to stop their unwarranted spying. We as Americans need to always stay informed and to elect politicians who treat the CONSTITUTION as a sacred document of FREEDOM.

As always, your input on this matter will be greatly appreciated.

…….Amendment IV: The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath of affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized………..

Warrantless wiretapping, according to the aforementioned amendment, should not be allowed. The truth is, is that this happens everyday without the court’s approval. I do understand that the Intelligence apparatus was established to protect the citizenry of this nation against all enemies, foreign and domestic. But where does it end? There are enemies, whose soul intent is to deprive the citizenry of this nation their basic rights to freedom. In essence, they have one, because the establishment and possible renewing of the PATRIOT ACT is abridging our rights. My question again, is where does it stop? Will we be in all likely terms, turned into a totalitarian state? As I said in a previous posting, IT IS WAY PAST TIME FOR US TO TAKE BACK OUR COUNTRY.

Input on this blog with ways to combat this will be greatly appreciated.

The politicians in office need to abide by the CONSTITUTION and not feed their own egos. Our forefathers were true libertarian thinkers who thought completely outside of the box. OUR CONSTITUTION IS BEING COMPLETELY CRAPPED ON BY THE CURRENT POLITITIONS TO INCLUDE KING BUSH. I think the american constituency is completely miffed at the way our country is being ran into the ground. It’s not about doing what I wanna do and doing it now , it’s about diminishing the size of our gargantuan government and giving us back our rights

My fellow bloggers, if y'all agree, please post what you feel is best for our country. Your input will be greatly appreciated.

IT'S WELL PAST TIME FOR THE CITIZENRY TO TAKE BACK THE COUNTRY.

I'm a veteran of the Army and a die hard libertarian. I am really tired to see the moral fabric of this country being torn to shreds by blow hard elitists who make careers out of going to Washington suppossedly for the people. I have an interest in all things history and politics. I live in Acworth with my wife Simone, who is from Brazil. We've been married 2 years and plan to be married many more.
