Many people will say that my choice for President is based on color. That is quite the contrary. My choice for president boils down to Capitalism versus Socialism. Our forefathers never imagined a system of governing that provided entitlements to people of various socioeconomic needs. Our government is supposed to provide for the general welfare of the people, which does not mean giving them money because they can’t provide for themselves. Capitalism, which is the basis of our Republic, provides an avenue for people of all classes to provide for their well being. With or without an education, a person can make a way for themselves, whether it is through entrepreneurship or working for a corporation.
Getting back to the issue at hand, we cannot afford these entitlement programs that the Democratic candidate has proposed. In order for them to work, we would have to be aggressively taxed, and that would ruin our economy. The Democratic candidate also proposes gutting tax cuts for the wealthy. If it were not for the wealthy, our government would be broke, because the wealthy pay a majority of the revenue that our government uses. I say we eliminate tax credits for everyone, because the lower classes receive money for not paying their fair share of taxes.
Our government pays out billions of dollars to those less fortunate because they cannot pay their way by working an honest job. This may sound cruel, but people need to be responsible for their well being and not depend on the government for a handout. I work very hard for what I have and am very tired of people who do not work getting what I’ve earned. Oh, and before I forget, if McCain were a populist like the Democratic candidate, I wouldn’t vote for him either. It’s not about color; it’s about what is right for our country in order to remain a superpower on the world stage. This is an impassioned plea for the people of this nation to vote with their conscious and not with their emotions. Remember, it is the heart that is fancy free which gets us into trouble.

I'm a veteran of the Army and a die hard libertarian. I am really tired to see the moral fabric of this country being torn to shreds by blow hard elitists who make careers out of going to Washington suppossedly for the people. I have an interest in all things history and politics. I live in Acworth with my wife Simone, who is from Brazil. We've been married 2 years and plan to be married many more.
