I've written in many of my blogs that a majority of politicians go to Washington for a lifelong career. This is not what the forefathers intended when they drafted the Constitution. Going to Washington is suppossed to be a vehicle for change, not just pandering to the classes and subclasses of our country. In my humble opinion, I feel that politicians are creating a sense of class warfare, whether it is between the rich, middleclass or the poor, or whatever other class they steal votes from. The Democrats primarily secure the minority vote by promising more entitlements.....that is wrong on so many different levels that I can't even begin to explain. The Republicans only pander to the wealthy.....once again, that is wrong. We as a country will never go forward unless we elect a politician from the common man. WE AS A NATION MUST FIGHT FOR CHANGE OR WE WILL GO THE WAY OF THE ROMAN EMPIRE. History has an ugly way of repeating itself. Let's be a success instead of being a statistic

I enjoyed your post and concur with your statement. The country's greatest and well known leaders have always been more like Cincinnatus than Cicero, answering the country's call for a strong leader and relinquishing power to return to their lives outside the city. To me, D.C. has always been this glass bubble capable of seeing the outside but isolated and thus not affected by the growing crises of the country. I also think professional politicians have ruined our political parties. We need to get back to the "all politics is local" tradition!

Yes, career politicians are leeches to me. How can you call yourself a representative of a region when you haven't spent time living in the region... Enough of that... What I personally think is Malcolm X was right. The media has a great responsibility and I think they continue to abuse the responsibility to the ut most the media controls societies overall opinion. An unfortunately the media would rather focus on entertainment instead of things that matter. These are just my thoughts...

that it a short and sad synopsis to what our future holds. the machine runs out of control with full speed ahead. its sad, that the simple idea of liberty carries different meanings depending on ones views, expectations and what one is willing to do to keep it.

I'm a veteran of the Army and a die hard libertarian. I am really tired to see the moral fabric of this country being torn to shreds by blow hard elitists who make careers out of going to Washington suppossedly for the people. I have an interest in all things history and politics. I live in Acworth with my wife Simone, who is from Brazil. We've been married 2 years and plan to be married many more.
