Iraq nightmare part II

I wrote in an earlier blog that Iraq was a complete nightmare. My assertion still stands. In my humble opinion, I feel that Congress is getting our soldiers killed. The evidence that I use to state my opinion is incontrovertible. The enemy engages in Asymmetrical warfare by using the insurgency to wage guerilla conflicts. The insurgency uses what is known as Force Multipliers, that is, they use topography, civilian population and psychological propaganda to engage the enemy in a hostile way. The Geneva Convention and the Hague set forth guidelines for the commencement of hostilities against an enemy of the state. This is all well and good if both sides apply the the Laws of Land Warfare. As reported by the media, they don't. These laws act as Force Detractors allowing defeat of our military. If we are ever going to allow our Troops to redeploy back to the United States, we must fight the enemy the way they fight us. We must lay waste to the insurgency, and for this to happen, Congress must let the ground commanders fight the war the way they're trained. We have obviously not learned from the mistakes of Vietnam, if we did, Iraq would be an afterthought.

We can agree to disagree, and the arguments will be numerous.

Mmkay...

I dont disagree with that at all. The insurgents have taken Americans hostage, put them on videos pleading for their lives, then beheading on video for the world to see. Some of our miltary personnel gets Court Marshalled and ultimately dishonorably discharged for disgracing Iraqui prisoners by...you know. So, they can behead, burn and torture US, but we cannot show any sort of anger or judgement for what they are doing to us, because its "Un-American".

Bullocks.

Lets just say for the sake of argument, we fought them the way they fight us....they already think we are a bunch of pious a$$holes, if we fought fire with fire, we will become what they think of us. For some reason, its not okay to retaliate with the same manner which we have been treated. We are supposed to be nice. I dont necessarily agree with that either.

What I think....is that since Saddam has been put down, literaly....I cant think of a viable reason why we are still over there. Can you?
This is a land that has quarreled with each other for thousands of years. How can we think that we can change their mindset and way in a few years? This is simply a people that we do not and will not ever fully understand.

With our fleets of ships and fighter jets that patrol our shores, do you really think that Al Quaida or terrorists can infiltrate our borders and attack our country if properly protected?

Lisa.....I feel that the pretense for going to war should have been validated more than what it was. Since we're there....we should be in it to win it. Screw the Geneva Conventions and lay waste to them. If we did this, then it would be over with a major quickness.

I think everyone, whether liberal or conservative, can agree with my assertion.

The mainstream media and whiney liberals are doin to todays warriors exactly what was done to us during Viet Nam! They think all can be sloved with a little conversation over milk and cookies.

YES AlQuaida can and will get us! We play political correctness in or airports (AMERICANS disrobing before a tsa (lower case intentional) dope... women not being able to ware underwire bras or be groped by the afore mentioned dope! We are NOT looking for the terrorist only doing things to make the dumb masses feel better ....

Tactics, yes as usual our hands are tied behind our backs, you will note that you hear little about the Marines tial on the Haditha battle... why you ask?... because the case is FALLING apart, is Jack Murtha saying he was wrong? NO is ANYONE saying they were wrong??? NO...

We should be BRUTAL! you kill a GI and you and 15 others are gonna DIE... This we dont wanna hurt them or look like a bully has gotta stop!

If you fly and have to remove your shoes or have your chest groped WRITE your congressman, we are Americans,
When I have your wounded!

I am really tired to see the moral fabric of this country being torn to shreds by blow hard elitists who make careers out of going to Washington suppossedly for the people.
