…….Amendment IV: The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath of affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized………..

Warrantless wiretapping, according to the aforementioned amendment, should not be allowed. The truth is, is that this happens everyday without the court’s approval. I do understand that the Intelligence apparatus was established to protect the citizenry of this nation against all enemies, foreign and domestic. But where does it end? There are enemies, whose soul intent is to deprive the citizenry of this nation their basic rights to freedom. In essence, they have one, because the establishment and possible renewing of the PATRIOT ACT is abridging our rights. My question again, is where does it stop? Will we be in all likely terms, turned into a totalitarian state? As I said in a previous posting, IT IS WAY PAST TIME FOR US TO TAKE BACK OUR COUNTRY.

Input on this blog with ways to combat this will be greatly appreciated.

I am afraid that 9/11 has given unspoken permission for the government to further inflict their power by law to invade our privacy. Enter THE PATRIOT ACT. Big Brother is getting bigger. I also believe there is more to it....

Now, while I understand the desire to protect the citizens in our country. There are some areas that can be controlled but are PLACATED like border security. It is very important to know that who lives in this country are citizens whose backgrounds are known as a matter of record. This is how it should be.
If every citizen could be accounted for, why would there be a need for the Pariot Act?

It is my opinion that the lack of border control is deliberate. The government says "we have to be able to see what is going and know if there is a cell here planning another mass destruction like 9/11". See the order? Using 9/11 and the known border security problem to give them the power to do as they wish to any citizen.

If we had better control over the borders and had proper accounting for all citizens, there would be less of a reason to even have the patriot act. European countries have better accounting for their citizens than we do. But then again, if we had that....you wouldnt be writing this blog about warrantless wiretapping, would you?

You're absolutely right.....the key word is IF. If alludes to many factors. IF we had this....if we had that. There wouldn't any need for the PATRIOT ACT. But as with anything that goes on in our country, out govt. kmows about it. The whole thing is just a ruse so they can become all powerful. This could lead to another blog on conspiracy theories....what do you think?

I think it would be interesting to see what other people think about what this government could be doing. It tests theories we have. It would be a good read.

I'm a veteran of the Army and a die hard libertarian. I am really tired to see the moral fabric of this country being torn to shreds by blow hard elitists who make careers out of going to Washington suppossedly for the people. I have an interest in all things history and politics. I live in Acworth with my wife Simone, who is from Brazil. We've been married 2 years and plan to be married many more.
