Something to think about. It is no secret that Texas will most likely vote red. If Obama does get elected he will not feel a lot of sympathy for Texas. I'm sure he will want to spread our wealth.

If you haven't noticed, the economy in Texas is not as bad as it is in other states, thanks primarily to the oil & gas industry and it provides a lot of jobs also.  Don't get me wrong, the economy is not all that great, just not as bad as some of the other states.

I bought gas this weekend for 2.09 a gallon and that helps ease the economic pain also. Seems like a no brainer to me that Texas would want a drill baby drill President rather than the other choice. This sounds a little selfish for Texas, but that is reality.

I'm a Proud Texan and I approve this message.

I take back all the bad things I said about Fox 4 News. They have went several hours without a front page blog post from FormerGOP / Strumpet and I am so proud of them.

Now I'm starting to miss the left wing radical statements already, the political blogs are so boring now.....lol

I'm still think that FormerGOP and Strumpet are on the payroll at FOX 4 News. I might have been born at night, but I wasn't born last night. Have you ever been curious as to why Fox 4 post 90% of the blogs on the front web page from these two screen names? I bet none of the rest of us can claim that high of a percentage. Could it be that they are assigned to keep the rest of us agitated? Just another conspiracy theory of mine.

I firmly still believe that promotion is everything. Just ask a Car Dealer, Big Box Store, Sporting Event, Box Office Movie, NASCAR Race, etc. The more money you spend to advertise, the more the consumer will buy into it. Why do you think you see so many car commercials? It's all about the exposure you get from being visible to the public eye. That being said, you know where I'm going with this.

Politics is the same way. The candidate that spends the most money to promote themselves will most likely win the election. Just play it cool, tell the people what they want to hear.  Be optimistic in the face of despair. Hire the best infomercial producers you can find.  Make sure that you use all forms of media, World News, National News, State, local, News. You have the money, make sure you even promote your name in on video game screens, internet, billboards, you name it.

I absolutely believe that the media can properly promote and hype a cow chip throwing contest and have thousands of people show up, just because they just think it is the in thing to do. We see it every day. I could go on and on, but you get my point.

Obama will win this election because he has spent his money wisely and he has spent enough to support the middle class for a year. I have no doubt that money can buy an election for the reasons I stated above. Most of us didn't even know who Obama was a year ago. Thanks to the media, we now think we know him personally.

Obama's campaign has done the best job of promotion that I have ever observed. He has played it cool, said all the right things, made all the right promises, optimistic and the Media loves him, why wouldn't they with the amount of money he has thrown there way. They might even go as for as to assign bloggers to discredit McCain and Palin.

I just want to let some of you in on a little secret. All this change takes money and if you haven't noticed, America doesn't have any.

What do you think about naming a street after Superintendent Michael Hinojosa?

Do you think it should be a street headed out of town?

What would we name it?

I was just curious as to the opinions on this subject.

Who do you think has been the best American President to live in the Whitehouse? I have my opinion and I'm just curious how many of you feel the same.

Let those Opinions flow.

I have some good news to report during all this negative news. The election will soon be over and we can talk about something else for a while. Fox 4 will take that YOU DECIDE 2008 icon with that stupid moving cursor off the website and I will be so glad to see it go.

The blog fights can be over something other than Democrat and Republicans and who is better. As far as I'm concerned this has been the poorest excuse for presidential candidates that we have ever seen in America. It has really surprised me to see and hear people actually promoting either one of these candidates as being the best for the job.

I have seen a few bloggers in here dailey running smear campaigns against the other. Do they really think that is going to change anyone's mind about how they are going to vote. It might be best for all of us to vote for the lesser of two evils and not tell anyone who we voted for. If your candidate does win, I can assure you that this time next year you won't be admitting that you voted for him, just trust me on that one.

Like I said, this election will soon be over and we should all be thankful that we only have to go through this every four years. Think happy thoughts in the mean time.

What is going on in this Country? Does anyone really know what is going on? Does the Whitehouse know? Does Wall Street Know? Does the State Capital know? Does DISD know that an 84 mil mistake is unacceptable? Does the D.A. Office not know the law, when it comes to financial disclosers?

It is really sad; to know that so many people are asleep at the wheel. What are these highly paid people doing at work, blogging or something? I'm going to label it the ENRON SYNDROME brought on by people not doing their jobs and taking care of the responsibilities they have.

America is in serious trouble right now because of this. It scares me to know that these people we have in charge are not paying attention. Don't be surprised if we wake up one morning and the Banks are closed.

I'm mad as hell about it and from the blogs I have been reading, so are a lot of other people. Make sure you go vote against some of these lazy important people on election day.

Ricky wants us all to donate to the victims of hurricane Ike.

I got a better ideal, why don't we send the money that it will take to re-build that uninsured mansion that burned down. Then he could move out of that  expensive rent house he is living in and get a modest 65,000 house to live in, like I have. It would just take a few lifestyle ajustments for him. I get so tired of us tax payers having to pay for everything while people like him live like kings, give me a break.

Who is this Wendy Williams that FOX is now promoting down our throats? This lady comes out of no where and Fox wants to make sure she is made a celebrity over night.

She is on this website, on every five minutes at fox 4, on billboards, TV Guide, buses, taxi's, dang! enough already. Give me a break! I guess I shouldn't be complaining, at least she is being hyped more than Obama now.

I guess by now you have all seen the picture of the repainted Obama plane, circulating around the net. He has removed the American flag from the tail. Imagine that, I guess that is part of the change he is talking about.

My question is this. Why does any Presidential canidate need a fuel guzzling ozone distroying Boeing 757 to fly around in? Just another example of a typical political waste of money. Politicians learn at an early age how to blow money.

I heard this morning that we have 13 more weeks before the election. I can't wait for it to be over. I'm even looking forward to Fox 4 taking that darn "You Decide 2008" icon with the moving cursor off the top right corner of the web page.

I see light at the end of the tunnel.

Fox 4 News Blog administrater,

I ran accross this article from the Azle News Website.

http://www.azle-news.com/news/get-news.asp?id=881
5&catid=5&cpg=get-news.asp

It was written by Bob Buckel, the Publisher of the Azle News. I hope you can post it for all to read. If this is true, then I totally agree with Mr. Buckel and I am thankful that he brought it to the tax payers attention.  Let's hear some feed back fellow bloggers.

All choked up over this Mansion mess
Thursday, July 24, 2008

Bob Buckel

Governor Rick Perry can probably continue to get re-elected until his world-famous hair turns gray or falls out. He just looks like a Texas governor ought to look (as a [female] former staff member said, “like he just just stepped out of a Wranglers ad”).

And hey, no ideas means no bad ideas, right? If you don’t count the Trans-Texas Corridor, that is.

But pretty as he is, Perry gets my nod as poster child for the out-of-touch politician who has lived most of his adult life on the company credit card.

He and his wife, Anita, recently launched a campaign to solicit donations to help restore the Governor’s Mansion which, you may recall, was gutted by fire in early June.

The Mansion – a 152-year-old landmark just across from the Capitol, was in the midst of being remodeled. The fire just made that job more extensive, expensive and difficult.

But don’t fret. The Perrys aren’t homeless. They had moved last fall to a hovel in the hills above Austin, where the state is paying $9,900 a month to rent them a gated estate until work on the Mansion is finished.

Now it looks like they will be staying a bit longer – maybe even until his term expires in at the end of 2010. Even if he is somehow not re-elected, it may be hard to evict them.

I was surprised so few eyebrows were raised over the pricetag of their temporary quarters. But now that they’re seeking donations to restore the Mansion, I just have to say something.

How can you look people in the eye and ask for money when they’re paying $10 grand a month for you to live off-campus? In what universe does that seem right?

Does this bother anyone but me?

I noticed the first donor to kick in was Dolph Briscoe, a former governor who owns a good chunk of South Texas.

Dolph put in $100,000 – generous, but it’s not going to break him.

I await a report on what the Perrys themselves are going to kick in. I know nothing about their personal fortunes or finances, but I do know a little math.

If they could just lower their lifestyle a bit and squeeze into a $5,000-a-month lean-to, they could redirect almost $60,000 a year into the Mansion’s restoration fund. If they could get by on $3,000 a month, they’d match Dolph’s donation in 14 months.

Friends who live in Austin assure me that you can indeed live there for less than $10 grand a month. One has a good job and he and his family live quite well – but the servants’ quarters at the governor’s rented estate would still be an upgrade for them.

Maybe I’m way off. Maybe that $9,900 a month is a bargain for the taxpayers of Texas. In the circle they run in, maybe it’s embarrassingly cheap. Or maybe as long as Rick buys his own hair gel, we’re getting the last laugh.

But if they’re going to ask the rest of us – who buy our own gas and pay our own rent – to kick in to restore the Mansion, it would make me feel better if the Perrys would prime the pump a little themselves.

I have an idea for the Presidential Library that will save us tax payers millions and make SMU happy. Let me know what ya think.

Now that the economy is in such bad shape, fuel is so high and we tax payers are driving less and doing our part to conserve, it is only fair to ask the president to do the same.

Daddy Bush already has a Library in College Station, Texas and a Museum. I would suggest that Jr. put his stuff in with his daddy's stuff during these trying times. I think it is only fair with the shape our economy is in.

I know a lot of tax payers that are making sacrifices these days. If my household is low on funds, then I don't go out a build a new house and put myself in more debt.

The tax payers are getting pisssed watching our government waste money when we are the only ones cutting back on spending. One day the upper lower class and middle class tax payers might just get fed up and decide to become indigent then we will see who cuts back then. I get mad as hell watching this great country go down the tubes.

It has been my observation that you can sell anything if you spend enough money to promote it. Why do you think Car Dealers have so many commercials on TV with all the sales gimmicks. Trust me, they have to make money one way or another. They spend a lot of money telling you what you can save.

Most people are smart enough not to fall for all the gimmicks. I estimate that 40% of the population has enough sense to come in out of the rain and 60% doesn't. That 60% is the target group for most promotions. I personally would rather the Car Dealer stop spending so much money on advertising and really lower the price on cars. The truth be known, talk is cheap and it is a lot easier to snow that 60% of the population with empty promises on a TV commercial.

My point, in the months ahead we can expect Obama to be spending all that campaign money to promote himself on every aspect of the media.  Again talk is cheap and he will be on every network making those empty promises. He will just about say or do anything to win and he has the money to do it.  The 60% will me brain washed as usual and I really expect Obama to be our next president. One thing that does bother me more than him being elected and that is knowing that 60% of the population will believe him.

Before closing, I will say something good about him. He is one of the best speakers that I have ever listened too. He knows what people want to hear and he is very slick about it. That being said, just remember this. Actions speak louder than words and if people are good Christians, they don't have to tell you how good they are, you just know.

I was channel surfing this morning and caught the tail end of Meet The Press. They were talking about Obama going back on his word to the American people. Shortly after that, the show was over.

I later tuned in on Fox 4 News and couldn't find any information about it. I'm guessing I must have been mistaken. I know Fox 4 News would not intentionally leave out a story like this, even if it is Obama.

Did anyone else hear about this?
