I feel there are two America's. This is not an arguementive blog about which one is better or supperior. I just want to see how many people have grasped this concept. An can actually see the truth that effects our society. Post and tell me what you think.

Well, mouthpeace, state your case first then maybe I can agree or disagree with your concept.

Maybe I can make a statement.
America is like highschool. It is a clique. You have your white americans, afican americans, latino americans, asian americans, and the list goes on. Then you have the classes; high, medium, low incomes. Next you have sub classes that sometimes tie in with the classes. You have the snooty which go with the high and sometimes medium classes. You have the bikers, they go from high to low. You have your gangs that too goes from high to low. You have your druggies which also goes from high to low. You have your religions that go from high to low.
My point is, that there are many cultures that have many different incomes but they all face the same problems of each other. There may be one America. But many types of Americans.

Mae, I did state my case.My case was finding out who all think that there duel americas? My point of view on the situation personnally is different than yours. Although I do agree that America can be viewed through the aspect you used. After i posted my blog I realized that there three america's...I am spiritually conscouis therefore I attempt to view the world from a holy stand point. Here's my theory...

There's 1. America as a whole. There's white america. Then there's Black America. Intergration of our country took place on the battle front long before it took place in the cities which we consider to be more racially tolerable than the rural country sides. when man is faced with life and death then color of ones skin tends to fade and men come together on a human front to meet there objective. Example the Shoot heard around the world. aka the boston massacre. Jumped off behind Crispus Atticks(whom is a black man).

Okay so if the plight for freedom initially jumped off behind a massacre and the history books feel it important enough to acknowledge Mr. Atticks significant role in the matter. Why some 300yrs later. The Afican American is still considered to be the lower class. The uneducated, the thife, the dope attick,the...on and on...In a race the person with the head start has a better chance of winning.(point Blank)

Hence the white american should be ahead of the African american but weren't we established next. Before the china man, the italian or the spanish man. The first self made female millionaire in america was black.Saying this to say. We've had communities longer, we've had businesses longer and we've had our on places of higher education established for well over a hundred years.

I see what you are saying, but I disagree with the white and black America thing.
However, I do agree with you when you say that color fades during times of tragedy. i.e. 9/11, Oklahoma bombing, centennial park bombing, princess diana's death, shall I go on?
Anyway, if I were to say that there were 2 America's it would be the lazy non-working welfare American's that can work and get a job but don't want to.
And the hard working tax paying Americans that pay for the welfare Americans.
That is not black, that is notwhite, that is how it is.

No other community is this well developed. Other than white America. Hence all other ethinic groups merge into white america for there education. Through education beliefs are established. Hence I'm the bad guy; an I can not change this opinion nor do I want to. Because I have come to realize the plurality of this nation. I now understand that it is a point of view and thats all. Because through my eyes I feel like I am on top.

In expressing my point I've been ending each blog short to make sure it post. I didn't actually think you were next to your computer. If there was truly one america the african american citizens would never be considered in the manner which we are considered.White and Black are on the oppossite ends of the color spectrum and therefore people consider them opposite in society. By the way it's the middle of the day why are you at home? I'm on vaca for Labor day... myself; oh and if you study other societies you'll find that many other people don't work especially in the chinese community and just because they don't work they shouldn't be shunned. The human race share characteristics with all in nature and if you study Bees. You'll find you have worker bees and you also have drown bee's. It's the same with people some just don't have the desire to produce. It's my job as a producer to make enough for them to, because my father gave them life and through there existence I'm not alone. i appreciate your time,-" an if a man loans me his ear, I will capture his Heart.-" BLACK.-jena6!!!

I don't differences between myself and blacks. I do feel like I'm in the same boat with them- like "the man" is white and rich, and he only cares about his own. Yes, I am white, but have grown up in a less than middle class environment.
About the two Americas, I fell like that's true because everytime I call a company I get "Press 1 for English, 2 for Espaniol." I'm getting sick of that.

I agree that there are 2 Americas as far as one works and the other doesn't. Those who don't always have a good excuse like race or whatever fits their situation. I, too, am so tired of "pressing one" for English!!! I shouldn't be the one to press an option to hear my language.

mouthy- not that I have to give you an excuse for my whereabouts or anything, but I am a stay at home mom thank you very much!
And not to mention, it just seems as though you just totally ignored my 2 America's. You can't argue with that can you?
And the arguement you are making really kind of backs up my statement of America being a clique. You just made it VERY wordy. No tin a nutshell like I did.
then, I have to agree with the press 1 for English BS!
I first saw that in Texas back in 1994. I thought that was the funniest thing I have ever seen. I thought it was a joke.!
Then, 2-3 years later it was here in GA. I am not laughing now!

I really think my view is of a whole becauses clicks don't run the country and if my blog seems wordy. I apologise in wanting to clearly express my view on my blog to someone whom has alot of spare time. I really don't feel you have the positioon to comment on America's non working class; seeing how it is you don't work. An yes we already know you contribute by raising the kids and keeping the house in order. Lord knows where the economy would be without your contributions. (JOB,EDUCATION,NEW HOBBY) ...

Mouthpeace, not that I have to answer you ao anything, but I do have a severe seizure disorder. I have never, ever driven a car in my life. Believe me that causes a lot of problems in my life. I do not have a transit system here where I live. I have no choice but to be a stay at home mom. I have to depend on EVERYONE I know for transportation. And it is not that easy to ask for. My husband does support us kindly.
And as an American, I do have the right to my opinion on America's working class when my husband's taxes are paying for one's welfare and food stampstamps.
I may not work, but I am not looking for handouts either.
BTW, I do have a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology TY!

Well congrates on the Degrees and I apologise about my comments; I do not like to antagonise the invillet. But If your not using your education to better the world, then you have no right to comment on anothers situation, In my opinion. The welfare recipients sufur from a dibilitating disease as well. It's called Poverty! I'm through... P.S.- in todays society we have the resources such as the internet. As you very well know. An they allow for modern people to work from the comfort of home. So your condition is really no excuse to use. ONLY AN EXCUSE TO YOU!/ This is from someone who wants to care. GET UP OFF YOUR _____! what ever you want to fit in there will be fine with me. Moving on to a new topic.

maymae i do see where you are comeing from about welfare, but your to close to you problum to see the whole picture. yes there are the lazy people who live off the gov. (leeches), but there are the genuinly hurt and dissabled ones that can't get a job! so don't just say the are lazy and ignore the ones who are labled the same way even though they aren't leeches.

p.s. sorry if i sond like i'm flaming you i'm not i'm just defending those who you overlooked. and i sympathize with you about the real leeches!

I agree with the disabled people, don't get me wrong about that.
But there are also some people that are disability for alcoholism and drug abuse, when others cannot get accepted for serious disorders such are paralization and degenerative arthritis.
I have broken my nose 4 times working on the job from my seizure disorder.
I cannot trust working on the internet. That just seems very fishy to me. Until I find someone I know and trust that tells me about a "job" that is reliable on the internet, then I am not going to go there.
What I don't think that you got about my education was that all the jobs in my field of study required a valid DL. And I do not have one. Not to mention, they have to be in good medical condition. My advisor did not tell me this despite knowing my circumstances.
I applied for a few county jobs that ONLY required a HS diploma, that is it. I was not hired because I did not have a DL, and they said I was UNDER qualified. A DL was not a reqirement. There was nothing I could do.
I have to admit, after this was a blow to my ego, and I felt that my education was of no use. So I continued to wait tables until I had my daughter. ( I lived across the street from the restraunt that I worked at).

I agree with all.
America is complicated. It is divided by strata both vertically and horizonitally. The more engaging an National Crisis is, the more all the strata pull together. The reason we have always had the Black, White thing, and now the Hispanic thing is that these components make up the principal part of the total population; thus more than enough people to very much make a voice known. Another ingredient in these strata is Culture, not just race. Yes, we are complicated. It is true, we are a Melting Pot. Not unlike a big family, who have their problems, their fusses, their fights, but in the end, if an outsider threatens them, they come together.
