I found out the other day that my niece and nephew were in danger on an online virtual avatar game. My niece 12 and my nephew is 11.
My brother actually became aware of this last week when he started looking to see what they were up to. He saw they have been playing this game.
Apparently the person that my niece had been talking to a person named "asnastyasIwannabe" or something to that affect. And my nephew was just cussing up a storm, dropping the F bomb every chance he got.
My nieces "friend" had a blog that had a "question of the day", every question was as perverted as the other. One being, "If your mom and dad were not home and we were locked in the closet what would you do to me?" You can imagine the answers that the perve got.
My brother took 3 days to go through all the histoy between the two of them. And once he had seen everything, he was sickened. And believe me that is a lot for him.
Anyways, the kids are completly restricteds from the computer.
But the good thing is that my brother was successful on getting the website on the Internet Predator Watch List. It took only one day. I was very surprised.
Unfortunately, I cannot remeber the name of this site right now. But next time I talk to my mom I will make sure I get the name of it.
But that does not mean that other virtual reality, or other avatar game sites are not infested with online predators. As a matter of fact, I wouldn't be surprised if a predator started up these online games. So your not being nosey, look where your children are going, and look and the history of where they have been.

It is a good thing your brother checked the computer. Tell him to let his internet provider know about it too.

About 6 months ago my wife walked in on my 10yr old daughter playing some game that appeared to be Disney like, it was a virtual game were they named the characters, she attempted to down size the screen, my wife enlarged it and the other character was holding my daughters characters hand, he said for her to ly down and he was going to ly on top of her and to tell him if it hurt, she got the arse whoopin of her life, a good long talking to, and she has been banned from using the computer, I put a password to prevent her from getting on the pc, and I attempted to communicate with the guy/girl but they logged out.
We have to be very carefull, these preditors are going after not only girls, but boys too, you need to check the georgia Sex Offenders and punch in your zip code, it will pull up all the registered sex offenders in your area, remember the key word I just said "REGISTERED", some of them don't register, and that's a crime in itself, they have pictures and complete addresses aswell.
I hope this info helps you.

It's so scary what kids can get into. It wasn't too long ago, that i was considered a child, and i was furious when i found out my parents had the "key stroke program", i'm not really sure how it worked, but they could read EVERYTHING i typed, from conversations with my friends, to essays i wrote, to what i typed into a search engine. Absolutley everything. I felt like I had no privacy...
Now, looking back, i'm glad they did, as it stopped me from getting myself into trouble.
