Ok, I live in McDonough. And at a park here, they are in the process of trying to build of Wall of Honor for the Veterans. No matter what war. Korean, WWI, WWII, Vietnam. Doesn't matter.
You can buy a brick for the loved one that has died with his/her name on it. I have bought 2. Now the architecture and layout is beautiful. Now I am not trying to sell you anything. But I went to the website for Saxby Chambliss today and saw the budget was for 2008. He asked for a petty 250,000 for this memorial, as compared to 2 million dollars going to 2 different memorials. One going to Museum of Aviation ot Robbins Airforce Base in honor of WWII. and the other going to NATIONAL Meuseum of Patriotism, being relocated. Both of them 1,000,000 each.
The wall of Honor is not a museum but, the purpose is to honor just like a museum does. And the Wall of Honor is not limited to locals of McDonough. It is nationwide. Just like the Vietnam Wall. And that said to me more than any museum that I saw in DC this past summer.
Whether you agree or disagree it doesn't matter to me. I just wanted you to be aware of it.
