Has anyone else been watching the candidates onTV?  Have you noticed the reactions from the audience?  It's getting noisy, isn't it?  It seems that audience participation has gone beyond enthusiasm.

I would like you to take a look-see at the early talks that Adolf Hitler gave the German people before WW2.

I think I am seeing some similarities.  Do you?  Just wondering.

uh....hi.....

I just checked and I have all my fingers and all my toes.  I woke up (reasonably and passably -and  legally) -  clothed.  I do not seem to have a hangover and I have no dings or dents

....any other harley fest survivors out there?

I have been hearing rumblings about another stimulus check from the federal government.

Do you think the first stimulus checks helped our economy?

Do you think another round of stimulus checks will help our economy?

Do you think that stimulus checks will eventually hurt our economy somewhere down the road?

Did you think that the stimulus check that you received earlier this year was of benefit to you?

If the federal government were to give us another stimulus check what would you spend it on?

I don't believe it.  Is the Reverend Jackson just trying to get as much press and airtime as Obama?

Of all people to use that "N"-bomb, it came out of Reverend Jackson's mouth!

Tthat's right, Reverend Jackson, open mouth, insert foot.

I wonder what else this talented Christian gentleman is about to say.

I believe the quote was something about telling n****** how to behave. Clearly someone needs to tell them how to behave; as we have seen, they really don't know how to behave.

You said it, Reverend Jackson!

How very Christian of you to offer to neuter Barack Obama. I hope you are proud of yourself.

Has anyone driven on Hwy. 100 past the family planning clinic and noticed the men on the sidewalk in front of the clinic?  Their signs say something about planned murder.

As I have driven past these men, I wondered why they were there and what they wished to accomplish by being there.  What is on their agenda?  Anyone have any ideas?  I'm just trying to understand.

Much has been written about Mexican immigration.  Let's look for the real cause here. WHY do Mexicans come to the US? They come here for jobs and for a better way of life.   What is the Mexican government doing to improve life in Mexico? Why doesn't the US government contact the Mexican government and arrange to have their people transported back home? Why don't people blame the Mexican government instead of the Mexican people who come to the US for work to support their famlies?  It seems that a lot of blame has been misplaced here.

If you were in Mexico with a famly and your family was hungry and you lived in a one-room mud hut wouldn't YOU be finding a way to the United States?  I would.

The point is  - don't blame people for trying to improve their lives. Blame the Mexican government for their policies.

And blame our government for NOT controlling immigration years ago.

Blame our government for NOT calling on the Mexican government and holding the Mexican government responsible for their role in what is now OUR immigration problem.

Our government continues to drag its feet. Blame our government for not addressing these issues  timely and finally getting something accomplished.

I agree that illegal means illegal.

Let's get at the root cause and work with that.

Up north we had a tradition.  When the very first 40-degree day came around we used to do something special.

I think this year I am going to run outside nearly naked (I wouldn't want to scare the animals in the woods) and make happy noises as loud as I can.  You may see me on the news being hauled off to the funny farm lauging and hollering, but I don't care.

What you going to do?

The latest school shooting was really close - Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, Illinois.  Nice, quiet Dekalb. 21 students shot, 6 students dead.  Their parents must be heartbroken, scared and angry.

Is anyone else afraid to let their kids go to college?  Anyone let their kids go to the mall anymore?  Out for a night with friends?  Do you worry about their safety?

What steps do you take to keep your kids safe?

I don't know about you guys, but I''m apprehensive these days.  Is our world getting so violent and scary that we all have to stay home?  Acquire our education on-line in the privacy of our own homes?  If we want to have some fun, are we going to have to invest in Wii for our living rooms?   II am concerned about workplace violence, too. Are we going to have to work from home so we can be safe?  Where do we draw the line?  ARE there any lines anymore??

This weekend, one of my co-workers had to go home with a nasty stomach ache and unsociable bodily functions, shall we say.  Jokingly I asked if he had eaten at McDonalds.  He stated that he had.

My better half recently stopped at McDonalds to grab a Big Mac one night and we were up for several hours that night while he was uh.....getting rid of the offending food in the uh.....facility.

I was at work when I took a phone call from another employee who stated that he would not be able to get to work because he  was ill with stomach churning, and, again, those unsociable bodily functions.  You guessed it, he ate lunch at McDonalds.

Two of my co-workers were talking, one stating that she did not feel well, the other asking if she had eaten that day at McDonalds....guess what?  She stopped at McDonalds while on the way to work.

I am hearing frequent stories about McDonalds and people becoming sick

I have not been able to eat at McDonalds since the winter of 2006 because it seemed that I did not feel well after I ate there.  But I thought it was just me.

Do the state restaurant inspectors not inspect at McDonalds?

Do we have candidate here for a segment called something like "Dirty Dining"?

Has anyone else out there had any problems?

We are watching a first in our country.  A woman is running for president of the United States, and guess what?  Her husband is helping her.  Bill Clinton was quoted as saying that he will do anything his wife asks of him. What a tremendously positive role model for men in this country!

Do you think that Bill Clinton is serving Hillary Clinton's campaign well?  Could he be any more supportive?  Could he do anything else to support her in achieving her goals? Do you believe that Hillary could do better without Bill?

Just wondering.  I have mixed feelings on these questions.  So I'm tossing the issues out to you.  Let me know what you think.

A news reporter commented recently regarding Tiger Woods "......lynch him in the back alley....."

Are we as a society so stupid and clueless that these comments have to continue?

What is wrong with us?  Do we not have the ability to learn and to monitor our own tongue - especially when we are making public commentary?

Can anyone explain to me why this continues to happen on the news?

Michael Vick is on his way to Leavenworth (a nice, cushy, country-club style federal prison) and he may be able to play football professionally again in 2009.

What do you think about Michael Vick making a comeback?

I have been watching the news and everyone seems to be reviewing the highlights of the news during 2007

.It is interesting to note that no one has mentioned the miners who were buried in Utah.

"The  miners were trapped on Aug. 6 in the Crandall Canyon Mine, and efforts to reach them came to a halt on Thursday, after the tunnel that rescuers were attempting to dig toward them caved in, killing three more men.

"I don't know whether the miners will be found," Murray said. "But I'm not optimistic."

A day earlier, relatives of the miners lashed out at officials and the mine's owners, faulting their rescue efforts as insufficient and asserting that that they were simply waiting for the six buried men to die."

So here is a toast to all the "little" people - the people we seldom hear about, the everyday workers who labor to make our lives easier.  The honest, hard-working people trying to raise their families as best they can and who represent what this country used to be all about.

Rest in peace.  We will remember.

I would like to be able to say that I am a suburban dweller working 40 hours a week with an SUV and 2.2 children and I have spare time in which I golf. However, none of that is true. I would just LIKE to say that. So I did.
