since the President & Vice President Elect are both Senators  are they drawing their Senate pay checks?

if they are drawing their pay checks from the Senate then it is my feeling they don't deserve the pay since they  have not been active in the Senate Since 11/4/08

while i am at it it seems everywhere John McCain went  Senator Joe Lieberman had his face in all the pictures. did he draw his full pay?

i would think there would be a policy in place to address this issue.

earlier this  week the Mayor of Phoenix stated he thought  slot machines in the airport would be a good idea to generate much needed revenue for the city.  if the native americans approved of the plan.

since when do native americans have an impact on what the city of Phoenix does?

is it carved in stone that the indians have a monopoly on slot machines ? do they have the power to declare  where slot machines are placed and by who?

Earlier this week Fox 10 did a brief report on Great-Expectations, a dating service based in Scottsdale.

i wish they had done a more in depth report.

i signed up for Great-Expectations several years ago. i paid a little over $4,000.00 for two years. the few ladies i actualy met told me they had paid $2,000.00, one had paid 2,900.00. the prices were all different.

it seemes to me they based their price on willingness to sign up,or walk out, and whether or not you were male female.

here's hopeing Fox 10 picks up this piece again.

last night watching 60 Minutes there was another piece about Pat Tillman, and watching the news this morning i noticed they covered Mr. Tillman again, this time because his Mother has written a book.

ii feel badly that he died under any circumstances as i do for any soldier who makes the ultimate.

i can understand his family needing to put closure on his death.

i feel the best tribute to Mr. Tillman, since he passed back in 2003 is to let him rest in peace and move on.

i could be wrong however i feel more people feel the same as i do but may be cautious about  stating what i have just written.

today i recieved my mayorial ballot in the mail, have it marked and will post it tonight.

how easy is that?

if more voters took advantage of this easy way to vote  you would save precious and expensive gasoline, the City Of Mesa would not need as much man power at our polling places, saving money in the process.

i have voted this way since moving to the valley close to 11 years now.

i urge more of the registered voters to sign up to recieve their ballots via the US Postal Service

during the dinner is GW43 going to toast the Pope?

i am surprised he got through high school !

i can't understand why George Bush and John McCain are listening to the Military leaders of our country.

i saw an article on Tv the other day where an American Captain , whose comments were translated told an iraq military squad leader he needed to take his troops up to were the fighing was taking place and the Americans would back them up if needed.

well what do you think happened? the Iraq soldiers went to lunch !

after seeing that segment i am in favor of a complete and total withdrawal of all American personnal.

if the iraq military don't want to fight their fight, and pay for it through their oil profits, why should we spend billions of dollars needed here at home,  and loose American lifes?

                                Pull Out Now !

watching the news tonight i listened to a report by Diane Ryan.

to me this report was very moving. it showed an older male, i think he was 100 years old, who had just received his citzenship papers. his family, son, and granddaughter grilled him every night on U.S. History and taught  him english.

this was nice for a change, a postive role model for everyone who wants to come to America.

i would love to see Diane Ryan do a follow up on this elderly man , and his family.

this is what immigration is all about, assimulating one's self into our culture. i'd love to meet this man, shake his hand and buy him a cup of coffee as i listen to his life experience.

yesterday i received my April Arizona Highway Magazine.
there is an article about Lovebirds in Phoenix, the real type bird found in Africa.

the article stated these birds are adapting to our climate and the food source they are finding here in Arizona such as bird feeders. irragationhomes carved into Suguaros made by woodpeckers.

the environmentalists state that Peach Faced Lovebirds can devour the fruit off a tree in days and stake out farms stripping the fields of grain, fruit or vegetables.

how do they propose to handle this? they advocate the elimination of the Peach Faced Lovebird.

if i recall correctly farmers at one time had an answer to their live stock being killed, they tried and almost suceeded in eliminating the wolf.

and how much time, man power and money have we spent trying to reintroduce the wold into our forrests and mountain areas?

will man ever leanr from past mistakes?

while watching TV commercials for Safe Auto Insurance they advertise low rates for the minimun insurance required.

i know there are many people who can't afford full coverage, however i feel Safe Auto is telling people it's ok to carry the minimun insurance which can affect many people if they are involved in an accident with a driver insured by Safe Auto.

what would  our National Deficeit look like if we cut off all foreign aid  to all countries  for a period of five years?

if we did cut off all foreign aid for five years what, if anything would that do to the world economy?

i think all who read this will find it very interesting when they read the content, the person who wrote it, and the date it was written.

Theodore Roosevelt's ideas on Immigrants and being an AMERICAN in 1907.

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate agains t any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and NOTHING but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language... And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

Theodore Roosevelt 1907?

Every American citizen needs to read this

i found last evenings news quite interesting.

it was reported that President Bush made a statement to the effect that he feels peace can be accomplished in the middle east by the end of his term.

if he is so confident about bringing peace to that region of the world why has it taken him seven plus years to visit Israel?

i like the fact that the town of Tempe is going to use reclaimed water for the town lake saving untold amounts of drinking water.

i find it somewhat ironic though that the Native Americans did not want to use reclaimed water at Snowbowl to make snow.

the Native American claims to have respect for the land, the animals, and the earths resources. if that were true i feel they would see the value of preserving our drinking water.
