i know the construction is still not complete in a few areas.. but there's a major stretch of i-10 inbound between hwy 6 and the loop that have 5 or 6 lanes open. i drive that stretch every morning at 3:15am. not much traffic then... but if you drive that part during rush hour, is it any better??

i also want to know how the new i-10 tollway is supposed to work. we still will have a FREE hov lane to use when we have passengers right? (the answer better be yes, or i'll be steamed.) i've tried to figure out how the tollway/hov lanes work, but whizzing by at 65 mph it's been pretty difficult to do.

yeah... crazy hours huh? i'll think of you on my way in to work... but don't you think you need more sleep?

another thought i had about all the lanes this morning.. all the -empty- lanes at 3:15. i was joking to myself that there was so much space i didn't even have to steer. it wouldn't matter if i used another lane or two. well wouldn't you know it... i came up on a trucker who was literally doing that... driving 3' into the lane on the left... then driving 3' into the lane on the right. that's when i did move 3 -lanes- to the left of him to get around him. (i've actually reported truckers who were swerving in the morning.. but this time i was able to get so far away from him i didn't get the info off the back of his truck.)

Yes, I desperately need more sleep. It is part of my medical problems, not enough sleep, break down of the immune system, other organs, etc. Patrick's schedule kills me, too, because I have to get up at 7:30 to get him ready for school (or up early if he is home or on school break). Then I have to try to get back to sleep. Some people work split shifts, I sleep split shifts. Fortunately Jeff tries to let me sleep in on Sat and Sun and by then I'm ready to collapse.

Sounds very scary (with the truck). I was coming up Hardy Toll Road today from Houston; I'm in the middle lane and I see this car coming up in the left lane and he is swerving all over the place. So I keep my eye on him but I can't move over to the right lane. I think, great, a drunk in the middle of the afternoon. He eventually speeds up and passes me and as he starts passing I see why he is swerving, he is looking at his cell phone trying to dial out or text out. Irritating.

I live off I-10 east and it utterly sux! There always seems to be an accident around here. Either a semi is flipping over or spilling something OR some imbecile drives the wrong way and runs into someone.

Now that they are almost done with the construction, they can begin to plan it's next improvement. LOL! Seriously, with how long it takes to plan it out, they might as well start now...to be prepared! :-)

sometimes i have to make a drive from i-10 and mason all the way to north shepard. i leave around 8ish and get to north shepard by 8:55 at the latest. im one of the drivers who knows who is gonna be the slow driver. but honestly even if they expand the lanes, i don't think it will help with traffic there are still gonna be people driving slow cause they are trying to talk on the phone, send a text, put on make-up, etc. its about the drivers not the lanes

The day I-10 is "better" will be a very happy day indeed...and while I know it will happen someday and it looks like it's getting closer to completion, I have a feeling I shouldn't get my hope up yet or get too excited!
