Ok folks, I need some ideas!  On June 25th, my husband and I will be celebrating our 25th anniversary since we first said "I do" to each other.  Can you imagine a guy that has been able to put up with me that long?  I have a hard time with that one, too.  He's a wonderful man.

We will be at a lakehouse, with our grandson, next week.  I need gift ideas!!!  We had already discussed not getting each other anything, when yesterday he gave me the most beautiful diamond ring I've ever seen.  While I'm wearing the boat I would have liked to have given him on my left hand, I have no idea as to what to give him.  Time is so limited now, with trying to get packed for our vacation.  I did find a bakery in the area, and I've thought to have them make a cake for us, but we really don't need the poundage.  I've made reservations for a restaurant in the area we will be in, but it's nothing fancy.  For years we have taken our vacation during our anniversary week, and we usually just go to a restaurant - the vacation being our gift to each other.  But this is the 25 year mark and I want to make it special.

PLEASE!  I need some ideas!

you mentioned a recipe for salsa...the one below isn't really a salsa its more of 'mix' salad.

In spanish its called Pico De Gallo, which roughly translated means Rooster's Beak

Ingredients
* 6 medium Tomatoes diced
* 1 medium Onion diced
* 1/4 cup fresh Cilantro chopped.
* 2 to 4 Fresh serrano or jalapeƱo seeded and minced
* garlic powder just a pinch
* Salt to taste
* For extra kick use a lime cut into quarters (2 quarters of the lime squeezed)

Put all ingredients in a bowl add 1/2 cup of cold water, mix well. Let set a few minutes. Afterwards add the lime juice and serve over beef fajitas (or any other style of meat) in a tortilla

Total Time: about 3-4 minutes

Wow, WW. Happy anniversary. What does your husband like? Maybe we can help you if we had an idea of what type of person he is.

Fill us in?

Thanks! He's not a jewelry guy. He likes classic cars and the drag races in Baytown. His birthday was this past week, and Father's Day the Sunday before, so he's got plenty of new clothes. He doesn't like anything extra on his already-massive key ring. He liked some risque` portraits I had made about 6 years ago, but I'm not sure I can afford the retouching that would be needed now - LOL!

Creative suggestions for something I can do for him while we're out of town would be great.

Happy Anniversary! I know it is tomorrow, but some ideas: Renewing your vows but a HDTV is always a welcome gift for a man. Maybe there is some place where he could go drag racing a car of his own? I know at Disney they have their own race track you can go on, but maybe there is something closer.

You know...my wife treated me to something once. It was something that chocked me up. One our 10th anniversary...we went out to dinner...it was something that I was doing for us but she turned the tables on me. At dinner, the waiter came to the table and presented me with a small box. I opened it and it was a ring. It was nothing at all expensive...just an ordinary band.

My wife looked at me and said something close to, "I would marry you again if you asked me...so I'm going to ask you like you asked me 10 years ago...will you marry me?"

I know it was mushy and all...but it was the most touching thing I experienced short of holding my kids at birth.

Perhaps you can do something like that? That is, if you haven't done something like that already.

Foe: That is soooo romantic. Jeff got all choked up when I got him a Christmas present he wasn't expecting -- a golf game for him and a friend on the golf course up here in The Woodlands, I think it is called the Tournament Players Course. It was pretty expensive. I've done some things for him for birthday and Christmas that he has loved -- Continental was having a weekend special for a great rate and I flew in his best friend from Florida as a surprise for his birthday. I did a surprise 40th birthday party and some of his family came in that he wasn't expecting. He wrote me a beautiful poem for one of our anniversaries that is hanging in my office. We were going to get Studio One portraits for our anniversary this year because it has been so long since we had a nice picture of the two of us together, but my puppy accidentally bit my face and this wasn't something I was going to be able to touch up so I had to cancel.
