Rev. Jeremiah Wright is back in the spotlight.  Do you think his controversal comments should be a factor in the race for the White House?  Let me know what you think?

Rev. Wright isn't running for the presidency - what's the significance of his comments? Everyone has thoughts and opinions, his just happened to hit the media. This has been talked about for weeks, this should be old "news." When are we going to focus on things that truly make a difference?

Are the comments of Rev. Wright an issue for Obama? I think not, but as long as the media gives people like Wright a chance to be seen and heard, then Obama will undoubtedly have more to prove to the American people just because of the color of his skin, which should not be a factor here, but rather WHO is the better candidate to pull this country out of this dreadful state of uncertainty!!!!!

he said it was attack on the black church, he spins like politician, he knows full well he's playing toward a sympathetic media, the way Al Qaida uses the media to further own agenda. Wright has been exposed, he knows it and trying to deflect further exposure. Most everyone has downright hate in heart for anyone who disagrees liberals are good at cloaking and deflecting theirs, they need full total exposure to daylight, first he went on Bill Moyers, now national press club, he seems to have converted some new followers, rehab of Wright liberal media style. Tired of being called biased and racist, when elite liberals stoop low enough to go to NASCAR and WWE for votes only to allege the conventions and super delegates overrule and disinfranchise my vote. tired of snobbish liberals taking away my choice, by interfering and giving us John McCain. Sorry Wright will continue to be a liability, Obama has all ready thrown dead mother and still living grandmother overboard for his former paster and no apologies what so ever from Obama.

Rev. Wright's comments should not be a factor in the race for the White House. He is not running for president. Opponents of Obama and some media are using this to distract citizens from the true platform of Obama's campaign which is hope and our country's desperate need for change in our government. This mudslinging is old, immature and hopefully will not sway educated voter in supporting the candidate of their choice. Obama has stated that he does not agree with Rev. Wright's comments. Consider this: I am sure their are racist, and controversial people that support Clinton and McCain. The opinions of private citizens do not reflect the beliefs of the candidate completely. We would not judge them on the beliefs of their supporters when I am sure these candidates don't feel the same.

I've been on the fence about this one for a while. On the one hand, I agree Barack Obama should not be held accountable for the beliefs/comments of Rev. Wright. But I'm not sure he should be excused for explaining why he attended Wright's sermons for two decades, even after he made the controversal comments. I'm not singling out Obama here. It could be Hillary, McCain... I just think when you're running for president, you should answer for your past. I think its germain to explaining things like character and prudent decision making.

One thing I pride myself on is that I am an AMERICAN. I am product of hundreds of thousands of MY people who were enslaved, worked hard, built, struggled, fought and DIED on this very soil and in battles around the world for the rights and luxuries so this Stupid Preacher and his merry band of idiots can "dress up" and say GD America??!!! Its is not a perfect country. it has many problems. But it is MY country and I don't like anyone defaming America.

I don't know if I am more embarrassed or more disgusted. If I was a Hillary supporter and heard that her church said the same stuff about Black folks (even if she aint in the room), can you honestly expect me to overlook it?? Remember they wanted to say he's Muslim (as if the entire religion is full of horrible people). That's the just the reality of the situation. And you can not expect White folks to casually dismiss that.

I know what I say sounds harsh. Don't care. I never said anything cause ya'll Black Church quip back with that Holy Ghost and would jump high enough to crack the ceiling. If you like it.....I love it (for you). But now it makes the rest of US look bad. For YEARS I have felt that you all give those Preachers (1) far too much credit, often undeserved; and (2) fail to hold them ANY standard of rhetoric as to the stuff they say, what comes up -comes out and often just coming out of nowhere. I am very pissed and offended that this has happen to such a brilliant man. And has very directly to do with him. And got White folks looking at cha.

So, where is this Amen Hallelujah choir

So, where is this Amen Hallelujah choir now? Uh huh.

Dont feel much like jumping up now do you?

I voted for Obama. I am a proud Black American. Obama dropped a few notches in my view of him. "Is this the type of hope he's bringing to Washington?" Youre running for the highest office in the land. Its more than just filling out a job application. You prepare, you go to the right school, study the right program, you run for local office, then campaign and raise money like crazy .....and oh yeah dont for get to hide the idiot preacher. Smart people dont associate with stupid people.

Fact-Fiction... Unfortunately even though Obama has answered with a national address about his stance /relationship with Rev. Wright. Yet the MEDIA won't let it rest...An for those people who's views of Obama are changing behind Rev. Wrights views slash comments. I personally think your uncapable of thinking for yourself. An probably can be swayed by someone elses ideas. Much like most Germans during the Holacaust, I guess... I personally agree and understand everything Rev. said and I think many other african Americans who make up the African American church may feel the same way.

That's why you all jump and bounce and do the jig in your Sunday finest, not listening to or reading anything like intelligent people. Rev Wrong is a complete idiot. And likewise you obviously dont read while jumping....But Obama numbers have been going down ever since his stupid preacher came on the scene. And Rev Wrong is loving the attention failing as always to recognized the only reason for the attention is once Black or Black crime. You church folk need to wake up!! I say its over for Obama and he has his now ex-preacher to blame. Just pathetic

oh yeah...last point. Rev Wrong claims that the GD America statement was a sound bite taking out of context. Well this weekend he deliveried about seven more looney-tune sounds bites including a goofy one of how white people clap. Complete Lunatic. SO over the top and unprofessional that I am sure the Clinton or McCain camp put him up to it. And the NAACP gave him ethe platform to do it (the nickel they will get from me).

How does a man of th cloth explain taking the Lords name in vain IN THE HOUSE OF THE LORD, at the pulpit as leader? I've never so embarrased of my race in MY LIFE. Pathetic

Tom, your a news reporter and in the media, would the controversial comments of one of your family members or your pastor decide whether we watch you or not? Is it fair to judge you by what other's say? Now some narrow minded people might try to put you on the spot. But your not responsible for no others actions but your own. And your beliefs are your own as well. If we as viewers like you & trust you to bring us the truth unbiasedly giving it factually then we shouldn't judge you at all. Well the same holds true for Obama. Where I come from you take a man for his word not the judgement of the it.

I wholeheartedly agree with you, Trippy. I share the same option. However, Tom is not running for President of this country where vast majority of folk dont know who he is. I would like to think that the majority of American voters are as sophicated as you imply. But remember they voted Bush in the second time. First time stolen.

On the by, Rev. Wright doesn't reflect the general impressions nor the views of other black clergy, his preachings are more rants and tantrums than sermons. I'm white, middle class, And I think it's time to put the race card at the bottom of the deck. Growing up my hero's weren't clan members so don't lump me in there. The Reverend's opinions are on the low end of my radar, What gave Obama the creds to me was when Rep. John Lewis changed his endorsement from Clinton to Obama, Sorry but when one of the founding leaders of the civil rights movement, and a true American hero speaks, to me it carries volumes. I just hope that Obama lives up to the faith that this one person has in him. "lets put racism in the grave once and for all, let there not be a line drawn in black nor white in our decision to elect the best one for the job".......Trippy

Although Barack Obama had a choice of churches to attend for 20 years, it is really sad that we focus on this one man, Jeremaiah Wright, and his outbursts over things that may or may not be true. If Barack wasn't a presidential hopeful, would Jeremiah Wright be a topic of discussion? Maybe in Chicago. This takes focus off the real issues at hand. Wright is like a scab. If you pick at it, eventually, it will bleed. Holding Barack accountable for his choices of church or for what Jeremiah has to say is like holding the students and Parents in Clayton County accountable for the actions of the School board and the accreditation crisis there. Gas prices, job losses and rising costs of food should outweigh Jeremiah right 100 to 1. It is sad that it doesn't.

Jeremaiah Wright is not a factor in my decision NOT to vote for Obama.

I could never vote for a liberal that only has their lust for power at the forefront and NOT what is best for the USA. This goes for Hillary too.

John McCain is not my first choice, but I'll hold my nose and vote for the lesser of the three evils.

The RevWrong's specific and numerous FALSEhoods aside and B.O.'s specific and disengenious/deceitful attempts to distance himself, aside also.... This is a real ISSUE & national problem as much as the economy is.
The thing thats really sticking with me is how it should be apparent by now, just how destructive & nonproductive all of this constant harping about racism in America is. This is the first REAL chance the country has had to elect a black & very promising, charismatic candidate as our leader. If the chance is lost ,the reason why, will be because of RevWrong's teaching of LIES,bitterness and devisiveness!
Obama will bear reponsiblity too, for accepting the status quo in not dealing with this 20yrs ago or 2months ago with APPROPRIATE disgust & distance. It's this kind of lingering negativity that frustrates and defeats personal & collective progress. Race baiting has become a national pass time & cultural art. Is it JUST/FAIR/RIGHT to condemn a whole country for being racist - when (even from our foundation) MORE THAN HALF the country was against slavery ! How long will children be discouraged and embittered in their formative years, being mistaught how an entire country of racist white people are constantly out to get them ! The bitter root that's been devotedly cultivated in this country is destroying the minds of young generations, neighborhoods, schools, and the nation. This neurotic negativity is the very reason that Obama may lose his perfect chance to be the 1st black president. Are we all supposed to focus on past follies or is the opportunity to usher in

...some Change and a new era more important.

I've already heard and read new conspiracy theories of how it's a white racist plot if
Obama IS elected president. While some bemoan
that the country is too racist and will NOT
elect Obama ! The racism spin experts have a nefarious plot for every occasion and a ready excuse for any failure.
