TexasTruBlu's Fortress of Solitude

by TexasTruBlu from Southern Denton Co

Last Post 1 day, 21 hours Ago

I have usually posted daily on this blog.
I just can't seem to manage it anymore.
Things are just too depressing and frankly, I was raised with the idea of simply taking your burden and moving on.
Since I am not sure how all of this will end up, I will simply post when I can.
I don't think I am alone in this because while some people seem elated with the way things are going, there are many of us who are very afraid of what the future will bring.
I just hope that something goes better soon.

You are not alone TTB...Many of us are scared and people of my parents generation on the conservative side of belief are wondering if my generation has the grit to bare the weight of the atrocities that are potentially going to unfold. Progressive liberal thinking has spread this country with its cancer, and like any other country, it has manipulated its youth population, and die hard bafooned. I am a man of faith, and want to believe that the 80% still lives and is out there alive and well. Did they see the writing on the wall and stay home...(dad did some reserch...in a majority of states that went blue, the counties numbering in the majority were read, but the metropolitan cities were blue) Illinois was one of those states...So are the 80% preparing, or giving up, or just so tired of politics and everything around it, that they simply let it not affect them any more, holding steadfast to principle, and letting the world around them pass by. I don't know that there is an answer to this...I am finding out how much I hate the DFW area specifically Dallas...It didn't used to be like this once upon a time....Now its more like Seattle WA, with only a tad bit more tolerance for a Texan. I was there 8 months back in 05-06...Texans are hated as much as taxes. Blessings to you. I don't comment much on your posts, but They have always been snipits of thought for me. Thank you.

Sometimes it helps to vent when you're frustrated, and this is a good place to do that. Regardless of what the future holds, there is one certain truth. God is in control. Whatever His plan, know that He will always take care of His people. Keep the faith.

I have been getting down too. But all we can do is try to figure a way to handle this. Our only hope currently is to find real conservatives and get them elected to reverse this tide of financial devastation we see unfolding daily. By the time the elections of 2010 come up things should be obvious enough even to the people who voted this in because it was 'cool'. They most likely will be unemployed or paying so much in tax they will wish they were. Pray alot.

My husband has felt the same way to see our country going in a very bad direction but we have our faith in our Lord.

I guess I am just too optimistic...
I don't see it as the end of the world, or the downfall of mankind as some I have talked to do..
I am anxious to see how things turn out.
I can not predict the future, so the best thing I can do is sit back and watch it roll in, be it good or bad.
Things will change from good to bad and back many times during our life.
I have personally had my ups and downs throughout life.
One stage, I couldn't afford a pack of sigs (I don't smoke, just an example.), the next stage, I was blowing money on toys, motorcycles, 4 wheelers, guns and so forth, the next stage, I didn't know if I could afford to eat that week or month, the next stage, back to doing good again...
One of these UP stages in my life, I should probably start saving something for the future DOWN stages..

TTB, You have a Happy Thanksgiving
I'll include you in my prayers and hope that will alleviate some of the distress.

TTB, I have taken some breaks from posting, but I still have passion. This is our country, and we are patriots. Post accordingly. :)

Never give up and always have hope. Without hope, what do we have? I have faith that it will get better, it might take some time but it will get better.Like I always say...it could always be worse lol.
God Bless America!

Yes like cowboyswife58 stated. Please don't give up hope. I know. I have been out of work for over three years. There is times that will be hard. Be a fighter and a surviver. You will. What I had to do in order to stay in the game was not easy and the lord willing I will stay. I know that I was put on the god green Earth for a reason. I have not found that answer, but I'm still searching. The good lord does have your good interest at heart.

I agree with all these posts. I, too, am bothered by our current state of affairs. It is difficult to believe that supposedly
intelligent leaders of our country and top business people have led us down this slippery slope without any sense of remorse. Also, it is an embarrassment for other countries to know what has happened to our once great country. How can we ever gain their respect again?

However, I have always been one to believe if you live your life based on sound principles, you will always be taken care of - no matter what happens. I try to have activities and people in my life that bring me joy and not dwell on the current events. I do keep up with the news though as I don't think we should totally remove ourselves from these adverse times in our country.

God Save America!!

I think this is the first post I have seen from you, TTB, that really sounds distressed. I do understand, though - you can't even watch TV without all the bad news thrown in your face, on top of how it is affecting us all personally.

I pray you and your family have a great Thanksgiving.

God bless.

No matter how much bad news there is, this is still the greatest country on earth. We all have lots to be thankful for.

This is just God's way of reminding us who is really in charge. We can continue to have faith in men and be disappointed, or we can have faith in God and be blessed. This works both individually and corporately- as in you and me, AND the whole country. God does deal with nations as well as individuals.

We can still be blessed as individuals if we honor God. But make no mistake, this country will not be blessed by turning its back on God. Hopefully, "WE" (the whole country) will realize this soon enough and we will repent from our selfishness, turn back to God and we can be saved as a nation too- and once again be able to bless others.

I don't know how anyone can not be depressed.

Negatove writing tends to get to you and there is nothing positive to write about anymore.

justissy, you would be hard to tell me apart from my avatar these days. The look is pretty much the same. My husband is looking for work and frankly, Christmas may just be stark this year. It's frustrating when you count pennies and do without your entire life and then see that it doesn't matter because even that little bit will be taken away. It's hard.

My husband took a job a couple of years ago with a decent little manufacturer. They had a niche market, a loyal clientele and good cash flow. Then they got bought out by a British firm, that proceeded to also buy out their competitors. And then, to squeeze a dime, they close long time manufacturing plants in various states and moved everything to Chicago. They made inexperienced assemblers make the parts, which slowed down production to almost nothing-so sales went down. They cut the sales and customer service help, which meant one person was doing the job that had been done by four. Now they are on the verge of crashing. Greed every time will do this.

It should be against the law for a foreign company to buy an American company. Remember how good Chrysler was doin before Damler bought them?
Now I have to quit dring Budweiser.
They fired us at 26.00 an hour and hired new at 13.00 an hour. Now they are closed.

I am a teacher, a mother and wife and I like to think I am a pretty good citizen. I read ALOT. I also write a good deal on various blogs. I appreciate a chance to respond to what we see in the news. I think that by posting our opinions we can probably find that everyone is more alike than we are willing to admit. Face it, people just like to argue. I would also like to say how much I appreciate having a forum for my views.
