Against Bush, Easily! How can anyone with a clear concise say Barack is ready to run into the nasty world out there my friends! He isn't Batman, and Biden isn't Robin, and the Bad guys are shooting real missiles!!!, So I believe that this was a vote against a President that took a puke not someone who was prepared to shoot!!!

I think it was like this:
I think some republicans voted for B. Hussein because Bush has pizzed them off for the past year.
I think some whites voted for BHO out of guilt.
I think that some of the more wealthy voted for BHO because they were guilted into it for making too much money.
I think that most Blacks voted for him just to see another black in office and to be able to relate.
I think that only about 10% voted the way they did because they were educated on the facts surrounding both candidates and made informed decisions.
I think that most Youngsters voted for BHO because thier liberal professors had them drinking thier hippie kool aid.
I think that some of the younger generation voted for BHO just because he was "young and hip" while McCain was "old and sick".
Overall I think that 80% of Americans are too stupid to vote either way.

against bush and FOR race....never a better time for an inexperienced, highly controversial black man to run.

I'm sure that in most voters hearts they were making the strongest statement possible to show their severe anger and disappoint in Bush. Not even taking into account Bush battled a democratic congress, especially in his second term. I am not making excuses for Bush by any means. I always thought the office was way beyond his reach. Now we all have to deal with the consequences. I hope Obama proves himself worthy, for the good of the country. Also, as gonow stated, because of his skin color. As a package deal he represents a polar opposite.

Not Bush, conservatism. Beginning with FDR, and the great things he instituted, the conservative movement went into full swing.
A well-educated person, even by liberal-based public educators [yes, even us Ratt], can recognize that history is often gotten wrong and the realities of it are lost while looking through the conservative glasses that all Americans have worn for the last 70 years.

I should clarify, my statements are a little fuzzy. After FDR, that is when conservatism began its agenda.

Clearly Colt I meant the Bush Ideology. I voted that way my opinion on Barack is he is different and won't let trickle down stay in place. I hope he can assemble a team that will leave us all better off. Truly only time will tell.

Colt, we believe Tall meant, not George Bush himself as a whole (well, A-Hole), but the ideal of conservatism.
After FDR's election, the country was in a sh!thole like it is now, but his foresight of conservatism went full bore. Sue, he brought hope as he promised prompt vigorous action, and asserted it, but then it was dumped onto Harry Truman.
But unlike NOBAMA, Harry Truman had the CAHOONES to take Japans rejection and then dropped the 2 big bangers onto them, with one in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
HUSSEIN NOBAMA doesn't have what Harry Truman had, and never will. He's a gutless politically correct sinister moron.
We need someone who has the guts to drop another Little Man and Fat Boy right at the southern border of the United States to get rid of the influx of illegals. Then remove our troops from IRAN and AFGHANISTAN and then light up that end of the world that will make them ragheads glow for ions of years.

It's time we take back the pride in this country and not give it away to HUSSEIN NOBAMA and his band of allies.

For some it was a vote against McCain's bad leadership skills, and bad judgment. We need a cool hand Luke in office, not an “OH GRANDPA!“ Look at his pick for V.P.! Everybody was suspect of the choice because of the talent pool he had to choose from was way deeper than Palin. After the Katie Couric interview, everyone saw how dim Sarah Palin really was, and it was over. (At least to the people that weren’t blinded by the kool-aid.) That exposed McCain’s lack of judgment, and that pushed a lot of independents Obama‘s way. Have you heard the story’s that are coming out of the McCain/ Palin camp. Remarkable!

They were voting against Bush AND voting for the incorrectly perceived color of Nobamas skin.

It is quite obvious that they voted for Mr. Obama as he won; It is also obvious that Bush was a huge factor in this win, regardless of how Mccain & Palin were viewed. Let's hope it works out for all.

gonowkwam, zoot_suit, I agree with you guys.

I will say Obama did organize and rally people better then republicans did.

Some republican on sunday fox news made it very clear though they know they have to take advantage of newer technologies. What I thought was most dictator like that Obama did was he bought a channel on Dish network channel 73. It ran "Obama's Plan for America" from September 15 to November 2 at least forgot to look on the 3rd and fourth. The September date was when I first noticed it.

buying a whole channel like that and then buying the network time forcing a baseball world series to wait for him, not even any sitting president has had that much in your face whether you like it or not towards we the people.

cyyplesma,

The World Series ended up that way only because of a rain out. The Republican's took advantage of computers very well they even have several on line Republican papers that don't print the news correctly. America was done with what they have had for the last eight years.

Blah, Blah, Blah, Excuses, Excuses. Its Amazing how people Act the Exact same way When they feel they have been wronged.

I still Laugh at these people who say The Majority of Black people Voted for Barack Obama, because he was Black. Im Sure Some New Voters did, but not the Majority.

These People Completely Ignore the fact that The Majority of Black People Historically Vote Democratic. Blacks were Just Extra Happy that for Once the Democratic Party had a Black Nominee to Vote for.

I would have Agreed had Barack Obama been a Republican. And Blacks Switched sides.

New Voters have been Rising Every Election Season. The Truth is that a Rush of New Voters would have taken Place nomatter what Color the individual's Skin was. Just as Long as they were Talking the Way Barack Obama talked. Which is the Same way John and Robert kennedy, Martin L. King and Ghandi talked.

Seeing the Masses of People Celebrating from Around the World. Is proof that it wasnt about Color. It was About Hope. And Those people would have rushed the Polls had they been allowed to Vote.

It wasnt Guilt that won the Election.

The Majority of People in America were Voting for Change.

Barack Obama was Overwelmingly Voted as the Closest Likelihood of Achieving it.

Its a Pity that there are Many who are Pleased with the Broken State of Humanity. Certain people who knowingly indulge in Injustices, Hatred, and Hypocrisy.

Nothing More than Thorns on the Stem of a Beautiful Flower we call Humanity.

I agree! Against Bush and against, crotchety old republicans!Personally I don't know how the hell McCain got the nomination in the first place, everyone I ask, wanted Romney. I just think old school repubs were afraid they could control Mitt.

I think the "push-Pull" phenomenon was at work during this election. Because of the dismal state of the economy, while Pres. Bush has been at the helm, voters were pulled away from the Republican Party. McCain was viewed by many as a once reasonable , acceptable moderate who took on the cloak of conservatism to appease the "good old party boys". My theory is this cost him support from younger progressives, and even Democrats and minotities who favored him in 2004. On the other hand Americans were pushed to support Obama because he offered the one ingredient essential for surviving the hard times-hope. And ,a promise to end the miserable war, extend unemployment, and have serious discussion with American Auto companies.

I can not believe that America voted for Obama. His voting record is so bad, and his "friends" are even worse. America did not do their research at all. But I have to respect America's choices.

Perhaps you didn't too. The people that you call friends were a set of well desguised lies. If you took the posting that told you about the freinds to any myth buster site you would have gotten the real truth.

I believe, marygrove, had the key word on this, we voted for 'hope' and I'd add 'change'. McCain would continue the policies of George W. and Obama was the only hope to change them. On January 20, he will become our President and I will give him the same benefit of the doubt that I give to anyone.
I am already a little disappointed in him for building up of Governor Granholm and failure to see that she has the same approaches as George W. by governing with fear. She hasn't shown any leadership in our economy except for giving away the future tax revenue of Michigan in tax incentives and then increasing the taxes on the taxpayers of this State who are already struggling while she is increasing our bills. She gave us an income tax increase that she threatened to veto a budget over if she didn't get her way. She handed a monopoly to the energy suppliers in our State along with rate increases for the taxpayer and then an additional charge we will pay for them to build new plants. Sounds a lot like the bailout the federal government is handing out to the banks. So now with her lack of leadership, there is talk of Obama offering her a job in Washington? Think she'll keep using her line of blaming the last Administration? She's got that line down but fails to acknowledge the last one in our State was hers.

The dems pushed the more of the same bit the whole time and it was bought. Someone mentioned Mitt and I too had a liking for him. The dums desecrated his religion from the get go. Isn't that funny. Anyway, God bless America, and as I said on other blogs, Obama gets ALL the blame just as Bush got regardless of the dum controlled senate. He had the money/advertising (campaign restraints are in order) to win, hollywood donated HUGE. They gettin a tax break for payback? Please say Granholm isn't a consideration. She is another reason I went repub.

Considering Obama`s lack of experience and questionable associations I think most people were voting for the historicness of it all. With his past associations he wouldn`t be able to pass a security check to guard a President let alone be one. I`m laughing at his in depth vetting of people who want to work on his staff. He wouldn`t be able to pass his own vetting process. Hypocrisy.

While people who express their opinions here are very inteligent, the majority of the people who voted are idiots.

America voted for Barak becauase of his image. All the cool celebrities endorsed him and he gave some bangin speeches.

Naturaly everyone wouldn't like bush because he is athority. Here we don't like athority figures. We all fight with our parents and dont listen to our teachers.

The only winners in this election are the african americans. A monumental moment for their culture. Many votes were cast to achieve this milestone.

However those who enjoy darker skin aren't the only ones inspired by Barak's candedicy. I voted for McCain; yet Barak has lit a fire under my azz.

This choice that our nation made was not one of wisdom.

I am an American Indian. I developed Muscular Dystrophy in 2001 at the ripe old age of 44. I spend my days mostly on line and with my Ex-wife, and kids. I guess you could say I'm a Democrat but I am most interested in what any candidate can do to improve the world in which we live. I know I really spell poorly but I take solace in the fact that neither could Einstein. LOL
