Medal of Honor
Mike  Monsoor
,a Navy  EOD Technician, was awarded the  Congressional Medal  of Honor posthumously for jumping on a  grenade in Iraq, giving his life to save his fellow  Seals.

During Mike Monsoor's funeral  in San Diego, as his coffin was being moved from the hearse to the grave  site at Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery, SEALs were lined up on both sides  of the pallbearers route forming a column of two's, with the coffin moving  up the center. As Mike's coffin passed, each SEAL, having removed his gold  Trident from his uniform, slapped it down embedding the Trident in the  wooden coffin.

The slaps were audible from across the  cemetery; by the time the coffin arrived grave side, it looked as though  it had a gold inlay from all the Tridents pinned to it. This was a fitting  send-off for a warrior hero.

Since the media wont make this news, I choose to make it news by forwarding it onto you guys. I am damn  proud of our military. If you are proud too, please pass this on. If not  then rest assured that these fine men andwomen of our military will  continue to serve and protect.

It is sad that something like this was not in the News they should have mentioned it and have told what kind of man he was to give up his life so his fellow man could live.

great post.

But you sure seem to be posting alot of tributes to our military as of late.

I find it ironic that the person who agreed with Murtha calling out Marines cold blooded killers, would ever post something like this.

Why not post how only on Marine is still pending trial on that claim? A claim that was made and retracted 3 times by Time Magazine.

Colt,

I am not going to play this again with you they got off by someone's convenient memory loss. I have posted that and the whole affair is tragic at best. Can you ever just let it go? Now as for the military postings I have always done them. I honor the Good Men and Women who stand in our defense

Funny you breazed right past the TIME MAG. that started the whole thing and the fact they had to recant their story. GET THIS THE ORIGINAL STORY THAT BROGHT THE HAFIDA SHOOTINGS AND THE CHARGES THAT FOLLOWED WAS A L I E !!!

You may look like a military loving kind of guy to the new poeple here, but you and i both know you have spit on then a few times in your postings. It time for the facts of what you really think of our brave men and women to be brought to the light of day.

Thomas More Law Center Releases Transcript of Ruling Dismissing LtCol Chessani ChargesJune 24, 2008

ANN ARBOR, MI – The Thomas More Law Center, a national non-profit, public-interest law firm based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, today released the transcript of the recent Unlawful Command Influence ruling by the military judge — Colonel Steven A. Folsom — dismissing all charges against LtCol Jeffrey Chessani, USMC. The Law Center represents LtCol Chessani.

Last week, prosecutors suffered a huge setback when the military judge dismissed all charges against LtCol Chessani, the highest ranking Marine officer facing charges arising out of the Battle of Haditha. The government has indicated that it intends to pursue an appeal, which will continue the case and the expense of taxpayer money for many more months.

Please read the transcript here.

The government’s appeal will be initially heard by the Navy-Marine Corps Court of Criminal Appeals (NMCCA), which is located in Washington, D.C. A decision by that court could then be appealed to the Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces (CAAF) and then even to the U.S. Supreme Court.

The Thomas More Law Center defends and promotes the religious freedom of Christians, time-honored family values, and the sanctity of human life through litigation, education, and related activities. It does not charge for its services. The Law Center is supported by contributions from individuals, corporations and foundations, and is recognized by the IRS as a section 501(c)(3) organization. A wonderful tribute to a national hero, God Bless him and his family, as well as ALL of our troops. The reason the media is not reporting this is the majority of our media is liberal and biased. They do not want to report anything positive about the war only the negatives, i'm glad that you are reporting it though Tall, Thanks for that!!!

I am also proud of the brave eventhough i dont agree with war and many of them dont either but the fact that they signed up to risk their life to protct our nation deserves the upmost respect in my book. so lets show the troops some love by atleast sending them something to brighten their days. I talked to a gentelman who just returned home from Iaq trying to get a job, and I asked him how it was and all he could say was dangerous. he said he couldnt do anythinh off base because it was too dangerous. we as a country need to provide more services for our returning soldiers

Outstanding post Tall.

It's an honor and a tribute for a hero that should have been on every media circuit in America.

It's a real sahame that many of our fallen Men and Women's furnerals are not allowed to be shown on the TV. They should all be allowed this honor. A woman was on CNN last week complaining that her brothers furenral was only allowed to be taped from a distance so far away they couldnt hear anything that was said, she set it up to be taped so she could have it as a life long tribute to her brother. But THANK YOU for bring this to the attention of so many that would have never known about this Great American Hero.
