It's so unfortunate that this whole Michael Vick situation has happened...but what's even more disheartening is the way it's dividing Atlantans. There's a lot of anger and outrage out there...on all sides. Let's all please try to keep our tempers in check, and not turn on each other. Hopefully the truth will finally emerge and we will get some answers...but until then, let's all take a collective deep breath! We need it....

you are right we need to take a deep breath, but this issue has struck a nerve with all atlantans no matter what side they are on, hopefully letting them vent on these blogs will keep this thing from getting violent (we all pray) it is plain to see that people in the south especially here in atlanta still have deep feelings about each other

Mrs. Lamani, how have you been? It's been about a year and a half since i reached out to you. I thought about e-mailing to you but I decided bloging back after I read your post. Mark had a very good posting as well. He brought about several situations in which the people were in a rush to judge, or the otherside convicted before the trial. Dog fighting does exist. Point blank...; Why does the arguement seem to fall along the colorline. Why are Black celebrities charaacters so severely attacked. When was the last time a caucasins image got attacked in such a maanner. How can people claim to be sincere fans. Yet there respect and love change so easily. In honesty we all know what belief is, and you know if you ever believed in someone or something it takes more than allegations to change your feelings. Most people don't know how to critically think. So read the blogs and use those critical skills. We are arguing in the defense of innocent until proven guilty, in the fact of supporting a young man in the perils of the American judical system. The mob is calling the young man names. An asking for him to be treated as the dogs were, as if his life were not of anymore value. They are calling him uneducated and thug. Do you think the indictment warrants such disrespectful behavior? If you think on these things, you will find yourself siding in this battle of words. Simple & Plain {TIP}; Any hateful blogs you see are in response to hateful postings. We post back to some degenerate who has more opinion than sense. They post to express there feelings toward someone who currently doe

When you get some free time watch "The Greatest" Muhammed Ali- bio. In the movie when he's moving , he's on the bus he tells his wife ; " I figure I got to stand because when they are through with me I'm going to have to come back to my people. Well spoken Mouthpiece.....

Honestly, I am very angry about this....I am pro Falcon and pro Michael Vick. It hurts so much with me being a single parent, with a 20-year college daughter that the money I have spent over the years supporting my Atlanta Falcons and Michael Vick. And now they can't support one of their players, that have not been convicted by the courts, but by idiots that will not let the judicial system decide his guilt or innocence. I ATL born and raised and even though I have always supported the Falcons, I am heartbroken. Arthur Blank has broken my heart with his cowardliness. He let pressure get the best of him. I watched the new conference yesterday, I was so disappointed….I almost cried. Right now, Michael Vick needs support. Arthur Blank, Rich McKay, or Bobby Petrino is not showing support. Where is the backbone? How can Arthur Blank turn so quickly on a Vick, a man who gave Vick a $100 million contract to. People are putting a dog’s life over a human. People we got to do better than this. I’m glad these blogs are here for people to express how they feel. I think before this is all over with, someone is going to get hurt. I hope not.

I CANT HELP BUT BE UPSET. I DEAL WITH PEOPLE LIKE HIM EVERYDAY. HE IS NOTHING MORE THAN A SELF RIGHTOUS CRIMINAL AND I HOPE THAT THE PEOPLE OF GEORGIA LOOK FORWARD TO HAVING OUR STATE DISASSOCIATED WITH HIS NAME. PERSONS WHO ARE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE LOOKED UPON BY MANY WHO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THEE POSITION AND LET OTHERS DOWN ARE NOTHING MORE THAN A PIECE OF WORTHLESS TRASH THAT SHOULD BE KICKED TO THE SIDE OF A CURB, AND NOT AN ATLANTA CURB. I HOPE WE ARE DONE WITH THIS UNEDUCATED PERSON PEOPLE HAVE COME TO THINK SO HIGHLY OF. HE DOESNT DESERVE CHANCES, HE WAS GIVEN CHANCES AND TOOK ADVANTAGE OF HIS STATUS. HE SHOULD HAVE NEVER ASSOCIATED HIMSELF WITH THESE OTHER PEOPLE IF HE WAS TRULY NOT INVOLVED BE IT FAMILY OR NOT. I HOPE WE ARE DONE WITH MICHAEL VICK!!!!!!!

It sounds to me that a lot of people have so much hatred in their hearts. The name calling, the accusations are so unnecessary. How can a person be a criminal if he has never been convicted of a crime? When we call people degrading names, we must realize we're only voicing how and what we really feel about ourselves. People who do just that were brought up with a lot of negativity in their lives.

I think it's time for the supporters of Mike Vick to take the high road. I was always taught that ignorance breeds poverty and from what I’ve been reading on the bogs that statement rings true to me. These people who are calling for him to be convicted even before he has faced a jury of his peers have never done anything wrong, so therefore, they do not understand what it means not to rush to judgment. After all, Vick supporters, we're having dialogue with perfect people. So, we’re arguing a losing topic. Please pray for Mike Vick, he needs that more than ever now. He’s in court tomorrow afternoon. I feel that we have made our voices heard and prayerfully, Vick is aware that not everyone in Atlanta wants him ostracized from our city.

We must keep in mind that it’s never good to wish ill will on anyone for we never know when our season of trouble, embarrassment, or judgment from others will knock at our door. It’s only due to Grace and Mercy that a lot of us are where we are today.

Vick, keep your eyes on the Lord for he will sustain you.

Great idea Suchita, now if everyone would just BREATHEEEEEEE. But I think a lot of it is just arguing for the sake of arguing. Sorry, but that's my take on it. I say forget about it, wait til it goes to court, let it fall where it may, and be DONE with it. Sheesh,, enough already!!

jackson1 it truly upseting that you feel that way about a person you truly don't know, you have no idea what Vick have done for the kids in the inner city both here in atlanta and in va he is accused of something and you assumed he is guilty. If he is guilty and he will be dealt with by the courts but nobody knows what happened (when do we take the words of people with a shakie past by the way those informers have already been found guilty of a crime including his cousin so why would you believe them now the courts didn't before just something for the vick bashers to think about.)

Hey whateva, or whatever

The reason Arthur Blanks has turned against him is because the man (MV) who he has trusted for so long, and put his money into has lied to his face for 5 years, ever though about that- This "thug" has deceived all the people who have backed him for 5 years and you expect them to kiss his feet, again ??? Think again. The truth is Arthur Blanks finally said "ENOUGH"- he is not going to let his status as a wealty man get ruined by a "thug" who disrespected him for sooooo long !! Wake up !!! You can bet that Arthur Blanks has received more details about the case than we have and I'm sure he made a sound decision based on that. He took full advantage of the Falcons !! So, go snap your fingers and give me a chicken neck comment whateva !!

tparks, dont you get me started today- you can best believe that the FEDS have more than just a bunch of convicts talking, I know you know better than that, this is not Dekalb County Police Dept !! You know the FEDS are not risking their reputation depending on a bunch of noise some convicts are making .. You know, his cousin wasn't even arrested for dogfighting, he was the one living in the house... I wonder why ??? Maybe his cousin is snitching on him ??? You can believe its more than snitching !!

Hope your kids are doing great !!

i think a lot of white people'yes i said it' are using this to express their true feelings towards african americans. if he did engage in dog fighting that is no reason to crucify him like he is co serial killer. hell they don't even treat them as bad as mike. i can't understand how someone can condone hunting and fishing and claim to be so humane.do they not think those hooks are not torcher or when they shoot an animal an he runs off with a bullet that might not have killed them and they are left out in the woods on their own to suffer for god knows how long just so they can have thier head hanging on the wall, please. why is everything different if you are white. another thing if they are so humane why are some of the signs so violent towards another human.leave mike alone you racist, jealous ,self righteous bunch of mostly rednecks

Oh, I was wondering, I kinda figured that is what was happening !! I just realized the other day the the cuz had not been mentioned at all. I mean, he was the one living there !! I'm not doubting that the FEDS have these witnesses, but I don't believe that that is their main thing that is going to convict him. MV's new lawyer will tear that up in court and they know that. We will see, we should know a "little" more today. I do honestly feel that Arthur Bland was devistated, do you ??

To all of you Vick defenders, it's sad to see how you find a criminal, heinous, cruelty act JUSTIFIABLE just because of the skin color. I am also a minority but I don't blind myself just because a person is of my same race. I guess that's why we live in such a messed up world full of rapist, drug dealers, murderers, incest, pornography, etc. WOW, it looks more like we're living in a third world country rather than living in the USA. What a sick society we live in, when a heinous crime is justified because of your skin color. He was indicted by the Grand Jury, so that means they have a mountain of evidence against him otherwise they would have never gone after a sports figure. And to all of you using the race card, shame on you, this is not black or white, my sentiments would be the same no matter who it was whether Latino, Asian, etc. How can you think it's OK for someone to torture to death helpless animals, the majority of you could care less because you're probably guilty of doing the same. They say that white people are prejudice, but from reading all these comments I think it's the other way around. I feel sorry for all of you!

Vick might not be guilty in a court of law YET, but he is GUILTY in a court of public opinion. He is ruined for life, no more Nike, no more Reebok, no more nothing!

Cristy, Cristy, Cristy. A grand jury indicted Ray Lewis. Were you as vocal about his case? An indictment is just an indictment. As I have stated before, it does not mean that MV is guilty. It only means that the grand jury based on the evidence that they were presented felt that it was sufficient to move forward to trial. Now with that being expressed, the grand jury will not be the same twelve jurors who will hear MV’s case. The burden of proof is on the FEDS, which may not be easy to prove. Remember it only takes one person to disagree with the FEDS case. Lady Justice is blind.

You speak about living in America, then you should know that as a citizen of this Great Nation, there are rights under the constitution that we are entitle to have and all the supporters of MV are saying is let him have his day in court. I’m not condoning what he has been alleged of doing.

I do feel that he is being mistreated. The glorifying of him losing his job, endorsements, freedom, and naming calling is just shocking to me. Then there are people like you accusing his supporters of agreeing with his actions. It’s obvious that you don’t get it! Ashamed of you for judging people because of whom they choose to support.

Remember, when you point one finger, there are four fingers pointing back at you. I do not see race as a factor, but it’s the people who are against him making racist remarks about him. I cannot recall a Caucasian person being called a “Thug”, Low-life and using those types of words that are associated with the black community. Then and only then d

Blog too long. Continues:
Then and only then does a prudent person draw the conclusion that you were speaking about a person of color. However, if one only read negative remarks about a person such as trailer park trash, redneck and based on society perception as a whole, a prudent person would draw the conclusion that one was speaking about a white person. That’s how the race card came about in this topic. If people vocabularies weren’t limited and they could express themselves without using racist remarks, then race would never surface.
