D.C. police were called Wednesday to help break up yet another large fight at Ballou High School. Police said the lunchroom fight was part of an ongoing dispute between two neighborhoods in the Southeast community, and this incident was triggered by a beating earlier this week. An 18-year-old student was jumped by a group of male students from another neighborhood at a bus stop after school, and the attackers broke the student's nose.

Wednesday morning, the victim's mother and sister went to Ballou to demand the student be transferred.
Investigators say the two women were attacked by the same group of students who beat up her child, sparking a larger brawl in the lunchroom.  Students say a group of teenage males were fighting the 36-year-old mother and a group of mainly teenage females.
Police were called in to break up the fight, and arrested four teenagers and the student's mother.

How and why was the mother and her sister allowed access to the lunchroom, is that where the principal's office is?? And where the heck was the so-called school security?? How soon will it be before we hear on the news that there were numerous shootings at Ballou stemming from this BS??

I know ex-mpd, I have to agree here, "HOODRATS"!!

Sickening.

btw, Youths fighting over neighborhoods, so-called 'territory'..... that they don't even own (literally, I am talking). What the hell are they fighting over, what the hell do they think they are 'protecting' it from. If this wasn't so sad and disgusting, it would be laughable. The youths need to get a grip on themselves, and the adults need to stand their BLEEP up and get a grip on the youths.

I am too angry about this incident to say much more/address the other issues of this issue at the moment......

Of course in typical liberalville fashion the attackee gets busted while the attacker get a pat on the back.
How dare you defend yourself against those poor thugs!

Starr, Ballou was in my district, and I'm sure you can imagine what went on there. The prevalent culture in S.E. is for the parent to defend their childs "respect" at all costs. The parent will invariably physically assault other children that she has perceived to have disrespected her child. Moms, Aunties, and Cousins routinely encourage and participate in assaults on behalf of their children.

So typical I wonder why it makes news anymore.

I've watched enough Judge Judy and Judge Joe Brown to figure out what happened.

Mom go to school to transfer the son out. Mom brings daughter for back up.

After yelling at the principal that her son is a good boy, Mom and daughter swing by lunchroom to see if the thugs who beat up the son are there. They are. So mom and daughter confront them---probably by yelling and screaming. Punches are thrown. Huge brawl breaks out. Cops are called.

ex-mpd, I guess you are lucky you made it out alive.

tees, it is sickeningand totally barbaric to say the least. If that same amount of effort would be put into a work ethic and parenting, wouldn't it be great?

Mountaineerfan, I was wondering why the "attackee" got arrested also. caffeinated-cow has probably summed up the reason though. I am sure there is a lot more to this than we are privy to.

Starr, tees, I agree with you both: if these "parents" put that energy into keeping their children on the straight and narrow and encouraging them to succeed in school and to have a good work ethic, incidents like these would be rare.

But if they are more interested in people "disrespecting" them or their "territory", this is what you get.

I worked in another inner city years ago and I met "parents" whose attitude was like this woman's. And I met parents who kept a tight hold on their children and pushed them to succeed and work hard because they wanted their children to have a better life.

Starrman, you said "Mountaineerfan, I was wondering why the "attackee" got arrested also"

Now that's strange.According to the story on the news(Fox) last night the attackers got off scot free.

"until she could move to PG county "
Oh GOD no! I've had enough of knee-grows like her, please no more.

"oh yeah, we are really looking forward to calling THEM neighbors)." sentiment shared (to incl sarcasm).

"she couldnt speak english well enough to save her life or her kid's"
If that's the case, how on earth does she think she is qualified to home school her child(ren)? Someone give her a good kick in her azz please......and a thump in her head for good measure.

Knee-grows such as these folks referenced in the initial blog are the ones that make a lot of white people think we're all like that....I'm sick and tired of them and their c**nery. Some folks need to know they are NOT representative of all Black Peoples (and I put that 's' on the end purposely, thank you).

Mountaineerfan, I think everybody should have been locked up. Everybody concerned seems to qualify as a thug.

MADsMom, I saw her also, she made most illegal aliens look good. And you ALL know how I feel about them.

I am so sick to death of these young people fighting over neighborhood streets, as half of them have no idea what ward they live in, who their council person is and if it were not for the news they would have no idea who the mayor is, so why are they wasting their time fighting for something that is not theirs anyway. The mother and daughter are stupid, ignorant, and just plain dumb to say the least, why not just take the child out of school until this crap is solved. This is just plain sickening to hear about this crap day in and day out, hell put all their arses in the middle of the field and let them kill each other so that the rest of us can live in civilization.

Starr:

Hell, they have no idea what the neighborhood feud is about anyway, and how in the hell can these fools claim on side of the street while others claim the other side, this is just sickening and it is even sadder that a lot of these parents are involved in this bull!

LilBits, this is definitely NOT the way parents should get involved with their kids. The really sad part is the kids see this as being the right thing to do, and the cycle simply continues.

You are absolutely correct on that one Starr and these parents today need to get a handle on this crap as they are doing nothing short of raising a bunch of "penitentiary in training" children and this is one cycle that needs to be broken immediately.

why do they fight about hoods.you have to move one day in your life.and the kids don't pay rent their parents do so they should be reppin the hood.but the story didn't actually happen that way.

If you call 80.00 dollars a month "paying rent" then I guess you are right sunshine. I doubt you are right about much though.

ex-mpd. I don't know how you even made heads or tails of the post by little-miss-sunshine.
I am still reading it and scratching my head and saying to myself, Whiskey-Tango-Foxtrot??

The only part I even slightly comprehend is, "the kids don't pay rent their parents do", and what does that have to do with the fight, and everyone acting like AH's??

Thankfully, I speak and understand jive. She is saying that it is the parents that should be out there representing their neighborhoods, not the kids. She is also reporting that she knows some of the players involved in the altercation at Ballou, and according to them, the incident did not happen in the way the news story has portrayed it as happening.
