Ok well after reading Pinkywalker’s comments regarding CAFTA and the NAFTA Super Highway on the Steve_Chenevey’s Pizza for pesos... blog I did some Googling and found some interesting stuff, such as:
The Teamsters are fighting to block the DOT’s plan to allow Mexican trucks
to crossover our borders.
Their concern in that who will be inspecting these vehicles? How will Mexico enforce driver drug testing when they don't have Drug Testing Labs.

In its court filing, the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) relinquished its original start date of Saturday, September 1 to open the border to Mexican driven trucks. The DOT has announced that it will start the pilot program no earlier than Thursday, September 6, 2007."

At first glance I was thinking that the “Amero Currency” is just part of a witch hunt but after reading that Mexican Trucks will be allowed by our Dept of Transportation to drive into our country looks to me like just another way to eliminate the pay scales of American Workers.

Out sourcing for manufacturing and services has just about killed the middle class already, now this! Could this be just another stepping stone to reach that goal? Where the large U.S. Corporations lobby our leaders by controlling the only thing they can “labor cost”?

I welcome your thoughts.
