I don't understand how reasonable adults can argue with a straight face that the results from Florida and Michigan should count in the race for the Democratic nomination.

The candidates agreed not to campaign in either state.

Barack Obama wasn't even on the ballot in Michigan.

The candidates and the states understood beforehand the penalty imposed by the Party when those states decided to move their primaries ahead of Super Tuesday.

They wanted to increase their influence and ended up making a bad bet.  Oh, well.

To turn around now and suggest that the punishment amounts to disenfranchising the voters and that the earlier Florida and Michigan votes should affect the delegate count is shameful, petty politics.

I don't suppose I have anything against a do-over, but the Democratic Party should pay for it, not the taxpayers.

Your thoughts?

Russ I agree with you 100%. You must remember the democrats play by the rules by the seat of their pants. Another words they make up the rules as they go. I can't believe the govenor of florida is for a do over. Like you said the democratic party should pay for the do-over and not the republican voters that live in the state.Of course if I was a democratic voter in one of these states I would be MAD AS HELL that my party did something that made my vote NOT count. Maybe this would be a good argument for a standatdized date for all voting.

If they decide to count the delegates or even hold another primary election in MI and FL, I will leave the democratic party forever! I always wondered what it was about Hilary Clinton that didn't sit quite right with me. Now I know. She's a snake bent on having it her way. She does not have the "integrity" to be President. One dishonest Clinton was enough. Please people, let's not send another one to the White House. I can't stand the thought of McCain becoming President but I'd vote for him before I vote for Clinton. And I will not donate 1 penny to the Democratic party until I'm certain they are going to do the right thing!

The DNC is setting themselves up for a max exodus if they allow the delegates from FL and MI to be seated. These 2 states knew they were disenfranchising their voters when they decided to move up their primaries. Now that Hillary is looking for whatever ways she can win, since she underestimated Barack, she wants them counted. Hmmm... doesn't that level of dishonesty scare her supporters?? It's an "at all costs" mentality and we've had to deal with 7 years of that already.

My 2 cents. Party loyalty is to me is just as bad as blatant segregation. People should vote for the best candidate. This is my Query?... If the country is really controled by the elite few then what makes you think the political process is immune. I personally believe that the Baraco campaign is promotional for political purposes. This country is just as divided as it always has been. An Florida and Michigan are a safety valve for the Clinton campaign just as Florida was for Little Bush in 2000. There going to use that in the end so she can win the nomination out right in the end. This is just my opinion...
