Talk about a cheezy and classless exit--could Bobby Petrino have made matters any worse than bailing on us in the middle of this mess of a season after compiling a miserable 3-10 record...But whats more is that this is Bobby's m-o! I heard on ESPN radio that he's had 15 jobs in the last 25 years of his coaching carousel...We know about his thirteen game stay here in Atlanta--But dont forget he bailed on Louisville one year after signing a ten year extension..Well good riddance in Arkansas...You go be number one hog! We need to work on repairing our franchise--

But this is the kind of story that lessons are made of--As Keith Brooking said "When i start something I'm gonna finish it--im gonna see it through!" That's why he's an All Pro Linebacker and Bobby Petrino will never coach in the NFL again...What did he think it was gonna be a cake walk--But you have to be tough anyway to coach and win in the NFL and you have to be even tougher to bear the lean years...Petrino said in Arkansas last night--"It was a tough decision on one had and an easy decision on the other!" Well its always easy to run and hide...And obviously that was the easiest decision for Bobby--But hey Frank Broyles don't be surprised if he takes off on you as well and leaves you the hogs with nothin but a bunch of bacon!

A line from the great poem penned by Edward Guest says: Black may be the clouds about you--your future may seem grim...but dont let your nerve desert you...keep yourself in fighting trim--if he worst is bound to happen in spite of all that you can do running from it will not help you--see it through!

Bobby take heed on the words from the poem for truer words have never been spoken...

Anyone have a number for Chan Gailey?

Well Mark, let's look at this situation from Bobby's point of view.

I mean, did he ever have the full focus of the "Atlanta Falcons", both fans and team? No, he did not. He was just there to fill a position.

And the problem with filling a position is that you're just taking up space. And I believe that Bobby Petrino didn't fill like a NFL coach. He was, to put it bluntly, out of his league. He was out of his comfort zone.

However, if the Falcons were on their way to the playoffs and even the Superbowl; Ha! I laugh when I say that, but I digress; I feel that Bobby would have had a more different attitude. No one wants to be on a losing team, especially when you're use to winning.

And let's be serious, Mark. The Falcons have problems. And it didn't start with Michael Vick. The Atlanta Falcons has a lot of problems with credible talent. It's almost as if they're afraid of going out and finding the best possible players. Everything is all tied up into politics. Don't hate on Bobby Petrino. He, actually, did the Falcons a favor.

Look at it this way Mark:
Would you want your sons in a classroom with a teacher who didn't care about their education? I wouldn't. I'd want that teacher gone asap.
Would you want a Sheriff that didn't care about your community? Probably not. Get someone in there who cares.
So why want a coach to hang in there til the end of the season if he doesn't care about the team he's coaching? The way I see it, he did us a favor. Now we can go ahead and put someone in there that WANTS to be there. Someone who will get our team back on track and bring some pride back to our team.

Adair,

It wasn't that Bobby didn't care about the Falcons. He really didn't have much to work with.

I mean, we all act as if the Atlanta Falcons are a very talented team. No, their not.

In fact, that is what has been missing in that franchise for a very long, long, long, did I say, long time. Come on. Let's be real.

Michael Vick was the team's star player. The star fell. And so, what happen to the team? It fell also. So, one would have to think, did the Falcons really have a full fledged team?

And it's not Michael Vick's fault. So, there's no need to put anything on him. His troubles are his troubles alone. But this franchise has been exposed. And people really have to start owning up to the fact that the Falcons never really had it together.

You're right. To say Bobby didn't care is probably a bit much, but I think you would have to agree that his heart wasn't really into the team. There is some good talent among the Falcons, but they're going to have to find the right coach to bring it out.
