GUNRIGHTS's Blog

How does one NOT HEAR an infant being "eaten alive" by a dog.  The story indicated this was perpetrated by a Labrador PUPPY that ate the baby while he was in a baby swing unattended for at least 2 hours.

WHAT?!  I don't get it.  And, on top of it all they euthanized the PUPPY.  If it was a pup, couldn't it have been "rehabilitated"?  And how does a puppy reach the baby in the swing?  I'm torn on this story, it feels like something is missing.

Regardless, the egg donor of this child definitely derserves very harsh punishment.

Hmm something don't sound right. A Lab puppy supposedly did that? I've had several Labs as pups and thats just too hard to beleive.
2 hours unattended? How old was this baby? Where was the parent? It just don't mesh.

mom and grandmother asleep in bedrooms on opposite sides of the house.

The pup was probably starving to death, and yes 2 month lab pup, is old enough to pull the swing over. There was also a pug dog in the house.
They are going to do a necropsy on the pup.
Also said the paramedics had to go to counselors because the scence was so traumatic.

I can't even begin to imagine what this poor child must have gone through.

It is hard for me to believe the the puppy did anything with the intention of "eating" the baby. But, probably trying to play with it the way all puppies do. (not defending what the doggie did) You know, some puppies play really rough. And those little teeth of theirs can tear right through you.

But, eitherway, this mother should pay a big penalty just for leaving the baby unattended on the other side of the house while she slept.

If the baby was alone for 2 hours, as they state, then how long do you think this poor baby went through this torture? HORRIBLE!

Because one is coked out of one's skull, I am sure.

It depends on the size of the puppy. I don't think that a puppy would get after an infant in a swing unless it was left there unsupervised. Sounds like the alleged "mother" was busy doing something more distracting than being a parent. I would wonder if perhaps the baby was dead before the puppy went after it.

Oh my sweet Lord! Very sadly, this isn't the first time this sort of thing has happened! A couple of years ago a dog chewed off the feet of a baby.
I agree the dog should have been put down (this can't be normal behavior) and who the freak would WANT an animal like that. Hope the 'parent' or whoever was in charge, pay VERY severely.

Disagree with dog being euthanized. A 2-month old LAB PUPPY is not a full grown Pitbull that may have been trained to kill.
I, too, wonder if the child may have already been dead before the pup chewed on him. This is a VERY disturbing story & I think there's more to it than what's been sold to us in the press.

well, I'm sure the puppy was only playing, I had it happen to one of My kids while My oldest sis was babysitting him, fortunately, He only suffered mnor injuries, but we never asked my sis to babysit again, in this case the the puppy was punished for the irresponsibility of the adult in charge, animals to can be taught , but someone has to pay attention, whih obviously was not the case , puppies like any animal, have sharp teeth and very strong jaws capable of chewing up bone, at least the adult responsible should be charged with wreckless child endangerment !

It is not enough that the idiots are baking children in hot cars now they are getting more creative by feeding them to the dogs. When is it going to stop?

What I would do to these folks would require a blood transfusion just to keep them alive for me to finish.

I know no matter what happens to these mindless fools on this earth will not compare to what God is going to do to them for hurting one of His precious little ones.

i have a lab and i can't see him doing that. labs are the best, sweetest dogs ever.

the mom and grandma didn't hear it? maybe they were on opposite ends of another house...not the one the baby was in

Mom is 17 I read on another site, certainly not a mature woman but old enough to know better. But , I think thatpoor baby was already dead. An injured baby is going to scream and loudly. I know I couldn't sleep through that,

This is just horrific. I am the first to say that bad press gives a bad name to some breeds. Pitt bulls are the most recent. However, labs have never been a victim of the press giving them bad names.

You know if this child had been left in a hot car the story would be a lot different. The child was left unattended for 2 hours. The heat alone could have caused damage. Now they are wanting to blame a dog for their bad parenting. This child would have screamed like crazy if it had been mauled by this dog.

Let's hope an autopsy will be performed and a cause of death established before they put this dog to its death.

I, also am having a very hard time with this!
I own two Labs. one weighs in at 122 pounds and the other, a regestered pedigree, weighs in at 97 pounds. I also have an 18 month old grand daughter that loves playing with my Labs when she is with us. NOTE: the are never left unsupervised and I have never had to get on to either of labs for being to rough.
labs rescue people, amoung many other high profile jobs!
I think the father or grand father should be charged as well because they left the house with the baby in the swing.
Both baby and Lab pup were two months old
The mother, being just 17 is still teenager dumb. MEANING: Not ready for the adult world.
The teen mom also has a history of drug abuse.
another reason she should not have been allowed to have a child.
THE MYSTERY:
How does a pup...why would a pup "eat a child to death"? I cant reach an understanding to that.
Did the parents not feed the dog?
Why wsnt the baby in the moms bedroom?
So many questions...
...so few answers.
I dont agree with killing the pup...not yet anyway.

I have had a lab as well. They are the sweetest, most playful and loyal dogs there are.

Even if the dog was hungry no way in hell would he start munching on a baby.

This whole family is nothing but trash and are trying to blame a dog rather than face criminal charges themselves.

The truth will come out. I just hope someone gives that poor dog a loving home.

I too am a dog lover but I'm a smart dog lover. Even though our dogs are very gentle, there is no way I would ever leave any of them alone with a 2 month old baby for 2 hours. I also agree that there is many facts that haven't come out yet. Here's what we do know:

1. The mother was a 17 year old minor with a baby and no husband.
2. The police said that she has a history of drug use.
3. She was asleep and left her baby alone for 2 hours.
4. Puppies get aggitated when a baby cries.

Was the young mother stonned? Did the puppy get so angry with the baby crying that its animal side kicked in? Time will tell.

If a dog is starving it will eat anything. Some people shouldn't have kids or pets.

that right there babysister138 is the missing part of this story,

if they left the baby alone for 2 hours, how long do you think it had been since the dog had been fed?

Bell...they killed the puppy.
PH...the 17 year old mom...well he may not be the husband, but he is the father of the baby, left the house 30 minutes before the grandfather did at 8:00 and 8:30AM
"Was the young mother stonned?" She may have been sleeping from being stoned.

They killed the puppy??? If so then I am really pissed. I have not heard about this story except for this blog.

I wish you would have copied the story so all the details known would be available.

People always get outraged when a child is killed but yet animals are always thought of as "just an animal". Some people don't realize that the love of an animal is just as great as the love of a human.

If this puppy was killed to try to make their negligence seem more valid then they should have to pay the concequences.

Not only for the child but for the puppy as well.

well, i would like to know the age of the puppy, my guess is it liked the baby's feet, and it tickled and the nany started kicking it's feet, and the puppy began grabbing at them and with their very sharp teeth, the baby probably jerked it's feet from the puppy's mouth , and got them bleeding , and one thing ld to another, and with no one to stop it, it just got worse and worse, th baby bleeding to death !

I take it that "nany" is baby.

We really need to know the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth about this...
...offence.
