Children have been the target of Satan for centuries.
When a new king took power in Egypt, he was threatened by the number of Israelites that were living there. He feared that when they grew older, they would join with his enemies, so he ordered that male children be killed when they were born. His reason for wanting these children killed was fear. Often we are told in the Scriptures to fear not, or do not worry. These are the schemes that Satan uses to justify irrational actions.
"Look," he said to his people, "the Israelites have become much too numerous for us. Come, we must deal shrewdly with them or they will become even more numerous and, if war breaks out, will join our enemies, fight against us and leave the country." So they put slave masters over them to oppress them with forced labor, and they built Pithom and Rameses as store cities for Pharaoh. But the more they were oppressed, the more they multiplied and spread; so the Egyptians came to dread the Israelites and worked them ruthlessly. They made their lives bitter with hard labor in brick and mortar and with all kinds of work in the fields; in all their hard labor the Egyptians used them ruthlessly. The king of Egypt said to the Hebrew midwives, whose names were Shiphrah and Puah, "When you help the Hebrew women in childbirth and observe them on the delivery stool, if it is a boy, kill him; but if it is a girl, let her live." The midwives, however, feared God and did not do what the king of Egypt had told them to do; they let the boys live. Then the king of Egypt summoned the midwives and asked them, "Why have you done this? Why have you let the boys live?" The midwives answered Pharaoh, "Hebrew women are not like Egyptian women; they are vigorous and give birth before the midwives arrive." So God was kind to the midwives and the people increased and became even more numerous. And because the midwives feared God, he gave them families of their own. Then Pharaoh gave this order to all his people: "Every boy that is born you must throw into the Nile, but let every girl live." Exodus 1:9-22
Since January 22, 1973 there have been more than 48 million children killed in the United States by abortion. In China, forced abortion is the law of the land, where Chinese officials fear large populations, so couples are only allowed to have just one child. There, girls are either abandoned or killed at birth, usually by drowning (infanticide). They prefer boys over girls so that the family name may continue. While the new king of Egypt had his reasons (war) for wanting all of the boys killed at birth, the Chinese have different reasons (population control) for wanting to kill all the girls. These different reasons are both driven by fear. Killing children has been a worldwide pastime for centuries, yet few people notice or even care that even now it goes on in front of our very noses, and on a daily basis. What is amazing is that Christians tolerate the practice, and even support it by electing pro-abortion candidates for public office, calling abortion a right. The “right to choose” far out-ways the child’s right to exist, even among most Christians. As you can see from the previous Scriptures, not much has changed since that new king took control of Egypt. We will look at more Scriptures, reviewing past atrocities against children, giving further evidence that what took place then, continues even today. Christians should take heed because God didn’t suddenly have a change of heart. What was unacceptable to Him back then has not changed. Coming up, we’ll also see how God dealt with those that murdered, abused, slaughtered, and even condoned these actions against children.
Do not give any of your children to be sacrificed to Molech, for you must not profane the name of your God. I am the LORD. Leviticus 18:21
Molech was an ancient fire deity, of a common type worshipped throughout Canaan generally, and Phoenicia particularly. Under various names, depending upon the city or country, Molech is essentially identical with Chemosh of Moab, and probably Melqart of Tyre. The general name for this type of fire god used throughout Palestine was Baal, meaning ‘lord.’ Molech was the national deity of the country of Ammon, east of the Jordan, or the Ammonites. Molech was also worshipped by the Israelites on many occasions, much to the distress of the prophets. According to Jewish tradition, the cult idol of Molech was made of brass, hollow, and with hands so positioned that something laid therein would fall to the fire below. The practice of laying a child across the hands, and thus committing them to the fire, was termed ‘pass through the fire to Molech.’see www.ancientroute.com/religion/godsname/molech.html
(Link no longer available).
Children were once sacrificed to the god Molech by burning them. In our more civilized world, aborted children are often burned in hospital incinerators. Although they are not burned as sacrificial offerings, they are killed simply for convenience, which may also be called a god.
The LORD said to Moses, "Say to the Israelites: 'Any Israelite or any alien living in Israel who gives any of his children to Molech must be put to death. The people of the community are to stone him. I will set my face against that man and I will cut him off from his people; for by giving his children to Molech, he has defiled my sanctuary and profaned my holy name. If the people of the community close their eyes when that man gives one of his children to Molech and they fail to put him to death, I will set my face against that man and his family and will cut off from their people both him and all who follow him in prostituting themselves to Molech. Leviticus 20:1-5
God did not tolerate His children being sacrificed to the detestable god of the Ammonites. Those that would do such a thing were to be stoned to death. But His punishment didn’t stop there. If the community looked the other way knowing that this practice was taking place, God would turn away from them and their families, and they would be cut off from His people.
In our very own communities, abortion is taking place on a daily basis. We know it is happening. Some of us speak out against it, while others speak out for it, again, calling it a mother’s right to choose. And then there are those that just look the other way. They don’t necessarily agree with the practice, but because it doesn’t affect them, they look the other way as if they will not be held accountable for allowing the practice to continue. If God was angry with the Israelites for sacrificing their children to a pagan god, will He not also be angry with those that are called by His name (Christian) that sacrifice their children for the sake of convenience? Will He not also be angry with those that look the other way since they could have done something about it!
"The people of Israel and Judah have done nothing but evil in my sight from their youth; indeed, the people of Israel have done nothing but provoke me with what their hands have made, declares the LORD . From the day it was built until now, this city has so aroused my anger and wrath that I must remove it from my sight. The people of Israel and Judah have provoked me by all the evil they have done-they, their kings and officials, their priests and prophets, the men of Judah and the people of Jerusalem. They turned their backs to me and not their faces; though I taught them again and again, they would not listen or respond to discipline. They set up their abominable idols in the house that bears my Name and defiled it. They built high places for Baal in the Valley of Ben Hinnom to sacrifice their sons and daughters to Molech, though I never commanded, nor did it enter my mind, that they should do such a detestable thing and so make Judah sin. Jeremiah 32:30-35
God can be provoked to anger, and His wrath cannot be very far off.
The LORD will bring a nation against you from far away, from the ends of the earth, like an eagle swooping down, a nation whose language you will not understand, a fierce-looking nation without respect for the old or pity for the young. They will devour the young of your livestock and the crops of your land until you are destroyed. They will leave you no grain, new wine or oil, nor any calves of your herds or lambs of your flocks until you are ruined. They will lay siege to all the cities throughout your land until the high fortified walls in which you trust fall down. They will besiege all the cities throughout the land the LORD your God is giving you. Because of the suffering that your enemy will inflict on you during the siege, you will eat the fruit of the womb, the flesh of the sons and daughters the LORD your God has given you. Even the most gentle and sensitive man among you will have no compassion on his own brother or the wife he loves or his surviving children, and he will not give to one of them any of the flesh of his children that he is eating. It will be all he has left because of the suffering your enemy will inflict on you during the siege of all your cities. The most gentle and sensitive woman among you-so sensitive and gentle that she would not venture to touch the ground with the sole of her foot-will begrudge the husband she loves and her own son or daughter the afterbirth from her womb and the children she bears. For she intends to eat them secretly during the siege and in the distress that your enemy will inflict on you in your cities. Deuteronomy 28:49-57
See what God allowed to happen in those days. He did not cause them to happen, He merely told them what was about to happen. If He withheld His protection from them in those days, should He not do the same for us today?
...and the Sepharvites burned their children in the fire as sacrifices to Adrammelech and Anammelech, the gods of Sepharvaim. They worshiped the LORD , but they also appointed all sorts of their own people to officiate for them as priests in the shrines at the high places. They worshiped the LORD , but they also served their own gods in accordance with the customs of the nations from which they had been brought. To this day they persist in their former practices. They neither worship the LORD nor adhere to the decrees and ordinances, the laws and commands that the LORD gave the descendants of Jacob, whom he named Israel.2 Kings 17:31-34
Here we see people that claim to worship God, while they sacrifice their children to strange gods. But God says, that even if they think they worship Him, they really do not.
When Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she proceeded to destroy the whole royal family of the house of Judah. But Jehosheba, the daughter of King Jehoram, took Joash son of Ahaziah and stole him away from among the royal princes who were about to be murdered and put him and his nurse in a bedroom. Because Jehosheba, the daughter of King Jehoram and wife of the priest Jehoiada, was Ahaziah's sister, she hid the child from Athaliah so she could not kill him. He remained hidden with them at the temple of God for six years while Athaliah ruled the land. 2Chronicles 22:10-12
Vengeance was the reason for murder in Athaliah’s heart. Even the life of an innocent child was meaningless to her.
Then on the thirteenth day of the first month the royal secretaries were summoned. They wrote out in the script of each province and in the language of each people all Haman's orders to the king's satraps, the governors of the various provinces and the nobles of the various peoples. These were written in the name of King Xerxes himself and sealed with his own ring. Dispatches were sent by couriers to all the king's provinces with the order to destroy, kill and annihilate all the Jews-young and old, women and little children-on a single day, the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, the month of Adar, and to plunder their goods. Esther 3:12-13
Jealousy was the motive behind killing all of the Jews, including little children. Mordecai, who was a Jew, would not bow down to worship Hamen, so Hamen’s solution was to kill all the Jews since they would be unwilling to bow down to anyone but the true God.
…And you took your sons and daughters whom you bore to me and sacrificed them as food to the idols. Was your prostitution not enough? You slaughtered my children and sacrificed them to the idols. In all your detestable practices and your prostitution you did not remember the days of your youth, when you were naked and bare, kicking about in your blood. " 'Woe! Woe to you, declares the Sovereign LORD … Ezekiel 16:20-23
'Therefore, you prostitute, hear the word of the LORD ! This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Because you poured out your wealth and exposed your nakedness in your promiscuity with your lovers, and because of all your detestable idols, and because you gave them your children's blood, therefore I am going to gather all your lovers, with whom you found pleasure, those you loved as well as those you hated. I will gather them against you from all around and will strip you in front of them, and they will see all your nakedness. I will sentence you to the punishment of women who commit adultery and who shed blood; I will bring upon you the blood vengeance of my wrath and jealous anger. Ezekiel 16:35-38
"Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: Since you have forgotten me and thrust me behind your back, you must bear the consequences of your lewdness and prostitution." The LORD said to me: "Son of man, will you judge Oholah and Oholibah? Then confront them with their detestable practices, for they have committed adultery and blood is on their hands. They committed adultery with their idols; they even sacrificed their children, whom they bore to me, as food for them. They have also done this to me: At that same time they defiled my sanctuary and desecrated my Sabbaths. On the very day they sacrificed their children to their idols, they entered my sanctuary and desecrated it. That is what they did in my house. Ezekiel 23:35-39
You will suffer the penalty for your lewdness and bear the consequences of your sins of idolatry. Then you will know that I am the Sovereign LORD ." Ezekiel 23:49
How long will God be willing to wait for this generation to wake up! How long will God’s people stand by and do nothing, looking away as though nothing was wrong, but knowing in their hearts that children are being slaughtered every day by the thousands all around us?
They sacrificed their sons and their daughters to demons. They shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, and the land was desecrated by their blood. They defiled themselves by what they did; by their deeds they prostituted themselves. Therefore the LORD was angry with his people and abhorred his inheritance. He handed them over to the nations, and their foes ruled over them. Their enemies oppressed them and subjected them to their power. Many times he delivered them, but they were bent on rebellion and they wasted away in their sin. Psalm 106:37-43
Should God not be angry with His people today? As He handed His people over to their enemies in the past, what makes us think He will not do the same to us now? Is there no fear of the Lord? Has He withheld His wrath for so long that we have forgotten His great and mighty power?
Satan has been trying to destroy God’s people since he was thrown out of heaven. Even Jesus was threatened as an infant by a jealous ruler called, Herod.
And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route. When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. "Get up," he said, "take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him." Matthew 2:12-13
When Herod realized that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was furious, and he gave orders to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under, in accordance with the time he had learned from the Magi. Matthew 2:16
The lives of innocent children meant nothing to Herod. This king was jealous and became worried that a new King would arise. His reason was one of selfishness. These are not Christian traits, but traits of those that are controlled by Satan.
A great and wondrous sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head. She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth. Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on his heads. His tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that he might devour her child the moment it was born. She gave birth to a son, a male child, who will rule all the nations with an iron scepter. And her child was snatched up to God and to his throne. Revelation 12:1-5
This Child that Satan had hoped to devour was Jesus. Satan is the cause of all murders beginning when Cain killed his brother Abel. He plants these seeds of fear, worry, jealousy, vengeance, and selfishness to the detriment of innocent little children. Is it any wonder that children continue to be murdered by the thousands each day? But you Christian, what is your excuse? Why have you not done more to confront this evil that has been allowed to persist in our communities? What excuse will you give to Christ on that day when you will meet Him face to face? How can He say to you, “Well done good and faithful servant”, when you looked the other way. Non Christians at least have an excuse. They have no knowledge of the truth, and will do things consistent with their sin nature. So I believe it will be worse for you that know better. Christians have certain responsibilities that must be carried out. One of those responsibilities is to defend the helpless.
In his arrogance the wicked man hunts down the weak, who are caught in the schemes he devises. He boasts of the cravings of his heart; he blesses the greedy and reviles the LORD . In his pride the wicked does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God. His ways are always prosperous; he is haughty and your laws are far from him; he sneers at all his enemies. He says to himself, "Nothing will shake me; I'll always be happy and never have trouble." His mouth is full of curses and lies and threats; trouble and evil are under his tongue. He lies in wait near the villages; from ambush he murders the innocent, watching in secret for his victims. He lies in wait like a lion in cover; he lies in wait to catch the helpless; he catches the helpless and drags them off in his net. His victims are crushed, they collapse; they fall under his strength. He says to himself, "God has forgotten; he covers his face and never sees." Psalm 10:1-11
Psalm 10:1-11 could be a picture of the abortionist. So how should righteous men respond?
"Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy." Proverbs 31:8-9
…wash and make yourselves clean. Take your evil deeds out of my sight! Stop doing wrong, learn to do right! Seek justice, encourage the oppressed. Defend the cause of the fatherless, plead the case of the widow. Isaiah 1:16-17
Why should the righteous defend those that cannot defend themselves?
There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood… Proverbs 6:16
And if the righteous fail to act? Could the following words apply to us today?
This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Reform your ways and your actions, and I will let you live in this place. Do not trust in deceptive words and say, "This is the temple of the LORD , the temple of the LORD , the temple of the LORD !" If you really change your ways and your actions and deal with each other justly, if you do not oppress the alien, the fatherless or the widow and do not shed innocent blood in this place, and if you do not follow other gods to your own harm, then I will let you live in this place, in the land I gave your forefathers for ever and ever. But look, you are trusting in deceptive words that are worthless. " 'Will you steal and murder, commit adultery and perjury, burn incense to Baal and follow other gods you have not known, and then come and stand before me in this house, which bears my Name, and say, "We are safe"-safe to do all these detestable things? Has this house, which bears my Name, become a den of robbers to you? But I have been watching! declares the LORD. Jeremiah 7:3-11
There is no question that God has prospered America. We are the most prosperous nation on earth, even in these tough times. Not only are we prosperous, but we are powerful. In our brief history as a nation, no one has been able to occupy, take over, and control us. We are a sovereign nation and need no outside influence to exist peacefully in a world racked with wars and rumors of wars, although there have been attempts in the past. And most recently, fanatical Muslim extremists have declared war on us by attacking us in our own land. No matter how you feel about the war with Iraq, no one can deny that Islamic terrorists are attempting to take control of the world by force, even our own country. Could this be a wake-up call for those that are called by God’s name? Is He beginning to deal with us over the issues of abortion, adultery, homosexuality, and idolatry? If so, it is not the fault of non-Christians. The fault lies within the Church of Jesus Christ. The abortion rate in the Church is no different from the abortion rates outside of the Church. The same can be said for divorce and adultery. Many Christians are more loyal to their priest, pastor, preacher, etc., than they are to Christ. This is called idolatry. This is a form of idol worship. And we are now seeing more and more openly gay churches and ministers of these churches calling God a liar by excusing their sin of homosexuality and calling it good rather than confessing it.
After September 11th, 2001, many people of different faiths and denominations came together to pray. Stadiums were filled with these people, praying together to the god of their choice. Jews, Muslims, and many Christian denominations, including Roman Catholics, prayed side-by-side, hoping that God will hear them. But consider what He says about those that are called by His name.
"When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. 2 Chronicles 7:13-15
Who are God’s people that are called by His name? Christians! We have taken the name of Christ. We make no apologies and profess that we are His followers. In times past, God caused His people great suffering in order to teach them a lesson. And then He told them what they had to do in order for Him to hear their prayers, forgive them, and heal their land. There is a formula. First He says to humble your-self. Then He says to pray and seek His face. And finally He says to turn from your wicked ways. When the Church is capable of doing these things corporately, God will not cause disaster to strike His people, and He will be willing to hear us, forgive us, and then heal us. Are we waiting for disaster to strike us again before we adhere to God’s formula? I’m not implying that God caused the events of September 11th, 2001, but could He have allowed them to take place? Certainly, He could have prevented it. If we Christians fail to humble ourselves, pray and seek God’s face, and turn from our wicked ways, we should expect to receive our due punishment as God pours out His wrath on His people.
God, speaking to the prophet Jeremiah said, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you…” Jeremiah 1:5
And the psalmist says, “Sons are a heritage from the LORD , children a reward from him.” Psalm 127:3
Human life is precious. God knew each one of us by name even before we were in the womb. Children are an inheritance from God; even a reward. Yet, they are used as pawns, even by people that know better. Christians should begin defending children in the womb, even at the embryonic stage (which is just another, yet early stage of development leading to adulthood). There are legal means that can and should be employed to halt the destruction of so many children. Satan has enjoyed his bloody party far too long while we look the other way. God is watching, brothers. If we don’t act appropriately soon, we cannot expect Him to withhold His anger. If we continue to ignore the suffering of the innocent, might we be made to suffer the wrath of God?
Electing appropriate government officials are our responsibility. There are enough Christians to topple every immoral, anti-Christian, anti-woman, anti-child, anti-family politician in this country. Those politicians that espouse values that are contrary to Christian values should be removed from office and replaced with those that will further the cause of Christ rather than bury His cause under an avalanche of secular humanism. Given the opportunity, the heart of every Christian should be about the business of defeating Satan’s control over human affairs. If he can destroy our children before they are born, he will have won certain battles. Since January 22, 1973, he has destroyed more than 48 million of them. It’s time to turn this trend around.

Is abortion an acceptable practice, even when the fertilized egg consists of just two cells? (the sperm cell and the egg cell) What does the Bible say concerning these zygotes which soon become embryo’s after the cells divide sufficiently? Do these zygotes and embryo’s have a soul? When do they become people, worthy of protection under the law? Is it ever acceptable to sacrifice these tiny organisms for the sake of science and research? All of these questions can be answered adequately for the Christian once he understands what God says about us.
First, we must understand that we were created by God. We did not evolve as some would like us to believe. Those Christians who think that God created us through evolution, either do not know what the Bible says about the creation, or they don’t believe the Bible is His Word.
...the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being. GE 2:7
So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man's ribs and closed up the place with flesh. Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. GE 2:21-22
There is no way that this process can be confused with evolution. Let the Scriptures speak for themselves.
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. GE 1:27
God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning--the sixth day. GE 1:31
...When God created man, he made him in the likeness of God. He created them male and female and blessed them. And when they were created, he called them "man. " GE 5:1-2
Let them praise the name of the LORD, for he commanded and they were created. PS 148:5 It is I who made the earth and created mankind upon it. My own hands stretched out the heavens; I marshaled their starry hosts. ISA 45:12
For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. EPH 2:10
Your hands made me and formed me; give me understanding to learn your commands. PS 119:73
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. PS 139:13
This is what the LORD says-- he who made you, who formed you in the womb, and who will help you: Do not be afraid, O Jacob, my servant, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen. ISA 44:2
"This is what the LORD says--your Redeemer, who formed you in the womb:...ISA 44:24
We were created by God, and in His image, and He said that all that He had made was very good. But there are those who would argue that zygotes, embryo’s, and even fetuses are not yet people and have no soul. Let’s take a look at what God thinks of those who have not yet been born.
Let this be written for a future generation, that a people not yet created may praise the LORD. PS 102:18
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations." JER 1:5
Before we were conceived in the natural way, we were conceived in the mind of God. He knew us before we were conceived in the womb, before we were born. Some people try to justify aborting their child because others have convinced them that his future will be marred with difficulties. Maybe he’ll be handicapped, or the parents just don’t think they’ll have enough money to take care of him Do we have the right to reject that which God has created because we want what we think is best for us and our child? The Bible says that everything God created is good. It is not for us to determine another person’s future, but it is God alone who has authority to make that decision.
Who are we to question God?
One of you will say to me: "Then why does God still blame us? For who resists his will?" But who are you, O man, to talk back to God? "Shall what is formed say to him who formed it, `Why did you make me like this?' " Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for noble purposes and some for common use? RO 9:19-21
The zygote, embryo, or fetus, has only the protection of the womb. He is not guilty of anything, even his very existence. The parents are guilty of conceiving him, but he is not guilty of anything. He had no choice in the matter, yet there are those who wish they could reverse their actions which conceived him, and end his existence. His conception cannot be reversed, so the alternative is to destroy him. Others think that he is a commodity, to be exploited by science in the name of compassion; to help save lives that might benefit from experimenting on them. Some people want to clone these children specifically for that purpose, ending their lives, to try to save others. But this is detestable to God.
There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers. PR 6:16-19
They shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, and the land was desecrated by their blood. PS 106:38
Look at what God did to His people in the past. Should He be any different today?
Therefore the LORD was angry with his people and abhorred his inheritance. He handed them over to the nations, and their foes ruled over them. Their enemies oppressed them and subjected them to their power. Many times he delivered them but they were bent on rebellion and they wasted away in their sin. PS 106:40-43
Since we know that we are a product of God’s creation, would it please Him to know that we would be willing to destroy His most precious creation? We did not evolve, but we were created in His image. We were created in Christ, to do good works and to praise Him. He conceived us and He knew us in His mind, long before He formed us in the womb. We may not like the color of our skin, or the handicap that we were born with, but we cannot question His reasons for doing such things. We cannot presume that He will not punish those who commit such sins since He did not fail to punish His people in the past. What makes us think that we are immune from His anger?
We cannot ever condone abortion of any kind, for any reason, including Embryonic Stem Cell Research. We have a responsibility to; Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless...PS 82:3; Rescue the weak and needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked PS 82:4. But we must do it with love and without violence. We must use all of the legal resources at our disposal, and we must be diligent to oppose legislation that hurts the cause of the weak and helpless. We must never fail to vote for the people who will work hard to end these tragic events.
I realize that some of you have already aborted your children. Since then, you have been born again; forgiven because of your confession, and by the blood of Christ. But the pain and the scars remain. There is good news for you. Be encouraged that your child went into God’s care immediately upon his death (2 Cor 5:8). That scar will not last forever. In heaven, God will wipe away every tear; there will be no more death, mourning, crying, or pain (Rev.7: 17, 21:4). I believe that if Christ will not remember our sins (Heb 8:12, 10:17) we will not remember them either. It is only then that our scars will disappear. Until then, they are there to remind us of what we once were so that we do not consider going back there, but especially that we are in desperate need of a Savior (Eph. 2:13).
If you have scars, take comfort and know that Christ can forgive you if He hasn’t already, and that child that God tried to give you, rests with Him. You may never know who he or she is. Maybe, God will reveal that child to you in heaven, and allow you to have an even better relationship with him or her than you could ever have imagined. We have a God who gives us abundant grace and mercy. I don’t see why He would not allow such a reunion.
A seed is just a seed while it is in the ground. Once the roots begin to form, the seed no longer exists, but a plant begins to form. Except for some outside interference, the plant grows into what it was meant to be, eventually dying of old age. Some plants do not make it to old age. We step in and cut its life short for our convenience. We use it for food, shelter, and other useful products. We sacrifice its life so that it may serve our needs and desires and so that our lives may be enhanced. And so it should be. Plants were created for our enjoyment, for our pleasure, for our benefit; to be used as we see fit.
The human egg is just an egg while it is inside the mother, unfertilized. Once fertilization takes place, the egg no longer exists, but a child begins to form. Except for some outside interference, the child grows into what he or she was meant to be, eventually dying of old age. Some children do not make it to old age. Some never see the light of day. People step in and cut their lives short for the sake of convenience. People use them for experimentation, implantation, and for other medical purposes. Some parents sacrifice the lives of their children so that their needs and desires may be fulfilled and so that their lives may be enhanced. But unlike the plant, this should not be. Children were created as a reward from God (Ps 127:3) so that we may teach them His ways and they may teach their children, so that they would trust God and Keep His commands (Ps 78:5-7).
Human sacrifice is not just a thing of the past. It is a practice that began early in our human history, and continues today. In the past, the sacrificial offering was meant to appease the particular gods so that the people may enjoy a good crop season, or some other favor that this god might bestow upon them. Throughout human history, millions of people, young and old, have succumbed to being sacrificed to unknown gods, who could do nothing for them. All of them died in vain.
Today, it might shock you to know that human sacrifice is alive and well, especially in the United States of America. Those who practice such an act do not know that they too are making a sacrifice to an unknown god. This god might be called convenience. Thousands of children and elderly die every day to this god. The methods of sacrifice today are different from those of the past. In the past, the victim was usually burned or stabbed and the people knew that they were making a sacrifice to their god. Today, the methods are different, but the result is the same.
Unborn children are sucked out of what should be the safest place in the universe, the mother’s womb. Parts of the baby are torn from his body while a powerful vacuum type machine tries to pull him away from safety. He cries, and his pain is excruciating, and it is real, and he finally dies. He is dissected and some of his parts are used for science, but the rest of him is discarded as if he were garbage.
Another method that is used to sacrifice children to this god called convenience is where the child is forced to enter the final stage of delivery, even though he is sometimes not developed enough to survive if he were allowed to complete his journey into this world. He is not only forced to leave the safety of his mother’s womb, but he is forced to do it feet first. Once he reaches the point where all that is left inside his mother is his head, a doctor inserts a sharp hollow tube into the back of his skull, and his brains are sucked out by a powerful vacuum until his head collapses. This child also feels real, excruciating pain until he too finally dies. Like the first baby, he is dissected and some of his parts are used for science, but the rest of him is discarded as if he too were garbage.
Another method of sacrificing children is where a pill is inserted into the woman’s vagina close to the cervix causing it to prematurely open. This allows the child to fall out into the birth canal leaving his mother and entering the sterile environment of a hospital room. There, he might be given what is called comfort care, that is, wrapped in a towel and placed on a table until he dies naturally. Some of these children live anywhere from forty-five minutes to eight hours, struggling to breathe because their lungs have not developed enough to work properly on their own. Some, given the proper care could survive as preemies if given proper medical attention. But that would be silly. Their objective is that this child too must die. And of course, he is dissected and some of his parts are used for science, and the rest of him is discarded as he too is considered garbage.
Another method of sacrificing children to the god of convenience is when a doctor injects a solution into the amniotic fluid. This solution swirling around the baby, and into his mouth, eyes and lungs and acts like an acid because it literally burns the flesh of his helpless body. His torture is all too real, and soon, but not soon enough, his dead lifeless body is removed and if there is anything that can be salvaged he is dissected and used for science. Whatever is left is tossed as though he too were garbage.
There is another method of sacrificing children on the altar of convenience, and that is through divorce. Children don’t die physically, but emotionally. They are not considered important enough to set aside differences and work on problems in the marriage. One or both of the selfish parents choose divorce as a solution, leaving in their wake countless heart broken children who never fully recover from the effects of having divorced parents.
The elderly and handicapped are also sacrificed to this god of convenience by withholding treatment for particular medical conditions, or giving them large doses of certain medications, speeding up their demise. This is done in the name of mercy, although we never hear the phrase, “mercy killing” anymore. Some advocate assisted suicide to help their friend or family member end his own life. The one who wants to die feels as if he is a burden to those people, and the friends and family feel as if the one who wants to die is a burden to them. So if they help him to die, they all win.
Human sacrifice is alive and well in this great age of technology. How many people, who are fallen victims of this unknown god of convenience, might have done mighty things for God? Satan does not know who these children are. So, just like the time he caused king Herod to kill every male child in Bethlehem who was under the age of two, in an attempt to kill Jesus, he is trying to cause us to kill every child who has not even entered the world so that the message of Christ might be silenced. Some people have sold out to this god of convenience. Their careers are more important than the gift that God has bestowed upon them, so they choose abortion. Their money is too precious to share with their child, so they choose abortion. Their reputation is more important than their child, so they choose to abort him. Their time is more valuable than their child, so they choose to abort him.
It is sometimes not convenient to have a child, so why not choose to abort him? This god of convenience is truly a manifestation of the devil. He wants to silence all of our children. He has succeeded in silencing millions already.
Some of you are guilty of falling prey to the god of convenience. If it’s through divorce, or by allowing an older relative to die by withholding treatment or administering lethal doses of drugs, or if it’s by choosing to abort a child, or helping someone to commit suicide, it is sin. It must be confessed, and you must never do it again.
Some of you women are guilty of aborting a child. Since then, you became a Christian. Your sins have been forgiven. You have been washed in the blood of Christ. Yet there are scars that never seem to disappear. This is the consequence of that sin. Christ has forgiven you, but the scar remains.
Some of you men are just as guilty of that sin as the women are who chose to abort the child. Unless you were married to her, you had no right to get her pregnant. You may not have confessed that sin, but you must. For some men, the scar is there. It is just as real as it is for the women. It too will not go away.
But there is good news. First, Christ will forgive that sin if you confess it (1 Jn 1:9). Second, that child went into God’s care immediately upon his death (2 Cor 5:8). Third, that scar will not last forever. 2:13).
When your children are old enough to understand, explain to them the horrors of human sacrifice. Let them grow up knowing that there are people out there who are willing to sacrifice someone so that their lives may not be inconvenienced. Let them know that you don’t want them to be one of those people. Tell your sons and daughters that having sexual relations with someone who they are not married to can lead to scars that will not go away in this lifetime, and they may never go away if Christ has not forgiven them.
And finally, if you have scars, take comfort and know that Christ can forgive you if He hasn’t already, and that child that God tried to give you, rests with Him. You may never know who he or she is. Maybe, God will reveal that child to you in heaven, and allow you to have an even better relationship with him or her than you could ever have imagined. We have a God who gives us abundant grace and mercy. I don’t see why He would not allow such a reunion.
