The Associated Press reported Wednesday that Chicago businessman Antoin "Tony" Rezko, 52, was convicted Wednesday of fraud, money laundering and aiding and abetting bribery in a plot to squeeze illegal payoffs out of firms hoping to do business with the state.

He had posted eight million dollars bond to remain at large during the trial, but he was taken into Federal Custody and swept off the Federal Prison as soon as the Verdict was read.

In the course of the trial testimony revealed details of all-night drug parties involving the government's star witness and allegations that Gov. Rod Blagojevich personally discussed a state job for a campaign contributor.

All through this process, there has been a focus on the relationship between Barack Obama and Rezko.  Obama has never been directly tied to the corruption and scandal unearthed by the investigations and allegations, but they have been closely associated from the inception of Obama's political career.  Rezko raised money for Obama's Illinois campaigns, as well as contributing to his current Presidential bid, which he had gleefully accepted, and was closely involved in Real Estate dealings with the Senator.

Of necessity and political expedience, if that be to his credit, Senator Obama has donated $150,000 of the monies known to be contributed by Rezko to charity.

One can just look at Senator Obama to lose all doubt that he is slick and smooth. In fact, he just may be as slick and smooth as Willie C and his defeated partner in crime. (my well considered opinion)

What is not opinion is some of the STUFF that has issued from the lips of Michelle Obama, the lovely lady who wants to be our First Lady. That woman is harsh and hard. She makes Hillary Clinton look like a Brownie Scout.

That leads me to another opinion: I believe Michelle's beliefs and desires are the real reason that the Obama Family joined and has maintained membership in Jeremiah Wright's Congregation all of these years. Only “wolves in sheep's clothing” could be comfortable there. Wright reads four words from the Bible, and screams ten words to belie what he just read. Barack and Michelle read from their Political Play Book that they want to promote Unity in America, but their lives scream of their desire for revenge on “rich” white folks and . . . Black Supremacy.

Hmm... yet another laughable blog supporting the candidacy of Barack Obama. Want to know why Barack Hussien Obama will be the next president of the USA? Go look in the mirror.

OH! and I suppose you hear the true Gospel from these people's lips?  You keep forgetting, statueman, that I am not nearly the racist this candidate and his wife are.  They say they are for unity, but every third word from either is a race card, though not obviously so in the minds of people who believe that people of color cannot be racists.

You have a winning smile, if that is really your picture there - much like the candidate himself.  You appear to be a very pleasant person.  But it takes a whole lot more than a winning smile and raising taxes to keep this Nation afloat.  Nor can anyone negotiate with committed Wahab Jihadists.

Remember that next time you look into your mirror.

Maybe it is time America was swept out of the way of the world's progress.
Go ahead and vote for the man.

Hey statueman,

Don't take ot so hard. We've been trashing Juan "Z-Visa" McCain over on hotair.com and politico.com. The Kool-aid drinkers in both parties are out in force. The only problem is...their candidates are sleazy and slimy and everybody knows it. McCain is a lousy candidate that can't get money and volunteers. Too bad...

Arky

innuendo and speculation are first cousins of false witness and most illogical for anyone with a valid point to make.

And how do you get red and bold into you replies?

My point to you is that this is an election and you and folks like you are making Obama's case for him. Be offended if you want... but look at your presentation and honestly asses who besides those who already think like you would in anyway be convinced by you?

Look at how you address me? Are you actually trying to win anyone over to your point of view or are you already convinced of the impending doom of beliefs that you hold that are valid?

No... I'm not going to vote for Barack Obama as president. But there is little doubt and it's already been shown that such attacks against him only boost his cause. That is my picture... I am a veteran... I believe the republican party is the better party to lead this country. But you only disable the cause you claim to represent by making unfounded claims and using obviously biased rhetoric.

Hey, glad to know that you lean more to the conservative side.  I don't mean to be insulting, but they can't "punk" the Lord, and they can't "punk" His prophesies, and I actually believe that America HAS gone beyond the point of no return.

The Almighty has said more than once, ". . . don't even pray for these people, because I have determined to send them into bondage."  Now, I don't like that idea for two reasons:
1) I served to protect, and I don't want to witness Amercia's colapse, and
2) I came back alive and I want to live in Liberty.
But, I gotta pray just as the Master did, "Not my will, but Thine be done."

You know as well as I do, my Brother:
For those who served to preserve it,
Freedom has a Flavour
The protected can never taste.

It's great how the liberal media has buried this story. No reason to publish anything bad about Barack now, right?

What about Obama's various gay love affairs and drug use? Even a gay lover at his Trinity Church who was murdered. McCain's gonna have a field day.

Great post. I like it. I think its pathetic the way people are almost afraid to speak up against Obama or see him negatively. I used to like him, a lot, but that was before all this BS surfaced and the rest of the country can ignore and down play his Ministers racist ramblings as if their somehow justified. It makes me sick. Racism and discrimination where wrong when White Americans did it, and guess what? It's wrong when Black Americans do it too. Or are they allowed to for injustices suffered by their ancestors cast upon them by evil people who've been dead...for how long? So I guess it'll never end because we're simply unable to GET OVER IT.

Obama Picks Up the All-Important William Jefferson Endorsementposted at 12:49 am on June 6, 2008 by Patterico
Send to a Friend | printer-friendly Barack Obama must already be trying to figure out how to walk away from this:
On a day that Sen. Barack Obama moved closer to clinching the Democratic presidential nomination, embattled Rep. William Jefferson, D-New Orleans, Tuesday became the first of Louisiana’s four Democratic congressional members to back his candidacy.
The news was announced yesterday — the same day that Obama pal Tony Rezko was convicted of 16 corruption counts, and Jefferson’s sister, brother, and niece were indicted on fraud charges.
The hope and the change — they are calling to me. Are they calling to you?

Dasvics: McCain who was referring to Parsley and Hagee as his spiritual counselors got into a bit of a mess, too, once he heard some of the things they were saying about Muslims. McCain quickly distanced himself from them, too. They've both had their problems with pastors. I doubt McCain is going to bring it up because he knows he is vulnerable in this area, too.

But, all the Politically Correct BLEEP about Islamists being Peace Loving and Fun Loving is a load of HORSEAPPLES!

They love peace on their terms ONLY.
They have FUN by killing Infidels.

How can anyone say it more clearly?
They MEAN WHAT THEY SAY when they announce their intent to DOMINATE the entire world under Sha'ria Law.
I don't know a single female who will like that, but females are the loudest detractors from the spreading of that truth.

Maybe they are getting confused because the word so often used to mean "spreading the truth" is dissemination, and it sounds too much like insemination.

HEY!!   I hear what you FEEL, ladies, but what do you THINK, for crying out loud?

Arky51: I have Muslim neighbors and they are not this stereotype. We've had many meaningful conversations with them about religion. Yet, I saw, after 9/11, this innocent people, their young boys get beat up by their classmates, their business vandalized, their home vandalized, their hot water heater blew up in their attack and they thought someone had put a bomb in their house. They have been, in fact, terrorized by individuals who believe all Muslims are radical extremists. Yet their one child, when he graduated from high school, wanted to join the fight in Iraq. I will never judge a group of people based on the actions of the extremists.

Yeah, yeah, I know PBMom.

Some Islamists are inded peace loving, because they are Muslim in name only . . . they give it "lip service" and are not really devoted and committed.

The same as MOST "Christians" are only giving it "lip service" and are often more hateful than those who make no profession at all.

Everybody is in some way religious - that's Human Nature.  BUT, few are truly devoted and committed.  Few have any Courage in their Convictions, because most have no real convictions.  On that issue only, I admire those we call "extremists," in that they are ready and willing to die for what they believe in.

God, the Creator, is not "watching us from a distance," is not some "Magic Genie" or Cosmic "DO-BOY," and is not always "warm and fuzzy."  He is jealous of His Glory, and narrow minded in the extreme when it comes to His EXPECTATIONS of Mankind.  He is Patient and Forgiving of those who are honestly

sorry for doing wrong, but unmoving in His definitions of right and wrong.

And the FACT that He COMMANDED "Thou Shalt not Murder" is all the proof that I need, to know that His Name is not Allah.

As to my personal experience, there were some Bosnian Muslims who lived upstairs from me a few years back.  I helped them with one thing and another, and I was invited to have coffee a time or two.  All seemed like they were fine neighbors.  But, one day I came out of my apartment to find the young man peeling the bumper sticker off my car, because it was imprinted, "The Great Promise Keeper, Jesus Christ."  Well, though I did not raise a fuss, I just thought that was disrespectful and uncalled for.
